Useful content
More of a 3.5 stars. Some of this was really useful information. I have not read the author’s previous work, which I hear repeats some of this a little bit. If that’s true, it’s probably because the information bears repeating. For example, I hadn’t really considered some of the basic precautions like not putting the “w” word on medical records and stuff. The ideas for enclosures and gating was also extremely helpful.I wish there had been a couple of areas where things were expounded upon, like diet and first aid, and there were some parts where the writing was a little informal. This book is good start that generates a lot more questions; I would not buy it as the all-comprehensive guide. I liked the resource section at the end to guide me for further reading.

Amazing educational book for any WD owner!
I bought this book when I got two WD puppies because I wanted to get some additional knowledge. I had already heard stories of Nicole and what an amazing trainer she is so I figured I would try it out. I absolutely loved reading the stories of WDs from her experience and the book had so much expert knowledge that was relayed perfectly to me as the reader. It was easy to read and so interesting that i finished it in two days. And I still go back and reference this book all the time.

Best book ever.
This book was unbelievable handy guide. Rescued a wolf dog. Never had one before. He was brought up in 750sq. ft apartment!!! Now we are up to 4 dogs. Built a dog park especially for for him, but the other dogs love it just as much as him. He has come a long way. I get daily loving from him. I call him my gentle giant. Looks bigger than what he really is with all that fur... Doesn't sleep in our home, he has the entire pole barn, den above my husbands work shop to sleep, with plenty of room to exercise, and boy that is all he likes to do. This book was a valuable companion, learning things I never knew. Showing him who's the alpha and who is not was a struggle, but now he understands. Plays very well with the other dogs. Adopted a Great Pyrenees/Husky mix girl. I truly believe that he thinks he is her father. He watches out for her, if the other dog is going after her, he will intervene to protect her. Never is a mean way. Back to the book so happy I purchased it. Wonderful guide, can't say enough. Thank you.....

Great book for anyone who loves a wolfdog!
My husband and I didn't plan on getting a wolfdog but one fell into our laps and we immediately fell in love with him. This made us all the more frustrated when we were trying to understand how to deal with him and his destructiveness in the house. I found out about this book from a search on the internet trying to find help on understanding our new addition. This book and Wolfdogs A-Z by Nicole Wilde helped us immensely and allowed us to see the joy that our wolfdog exudes. He is a really big puppy and we have learned (and still are learning) to treat him like he needs to be treated so he can be who he is but still fit in to our household. Without these books we wouldn't have known what to do. Everyone is right when they say wolfdogs are not for the person who wants a typical dog, but once you are owned by one they really bring a lot of love and fun into your life!

A must read before getting a wolf dog.
This is a book you should definitely read BEFORE making the decision to get a wolf dog. Its fairly short and easy to read, but chocked full of useful information. If you do decide to get a wolf dog, I would strongly recommend also reading Nicole Wilde's other book (Wolfdogs A-Z: Behavior, Training & More (Wolf Hybrids).

Great - A lot of detail
This is better than I expected. It gives a lot of detail about wolves and how to work with and how they behave.

One of the best ever about wolfdogs.
Bought this book 12 years ago when I got my first high content wolfdog. This was my “go to” help! Highly recommend to all my puppy buyers now.

Wolfdogs are not dogs please don't treat them like they are
If you live with wolfdogs I highly recommend this book I have owned 5 wolfdogs from low to mid content ( have 3 right now 2 pups that are mid content ) and they are/have completely different personalities. This book has taught me new ways to train the pups.

Very informative!
I am very carefully considering having a low-mid world dog as a companion. I have spent hours researching and did not find any helpful information other than negative but for no specific reason and also no information on how to approach having this type of animal in my life. This book not only outlined the negatives and challenges but it also offered some very positive and insightful ways to approach handling these animals. It is a very big decision and responsibility, one which will be a lifetime commitment and I feel as though this book did help me decide whether or not this breed is right for me
