Effective enough.
Used it to hold small taps less than 1/4 inch, and it does the job. The adjusting handle does not rotate smoothly; it rough and a little wobbly, but it holds the piece well; maybe a super smooth set of matching threads would result in it loosening easily, which would make it worse. In any event, it holds reliably, is light and small, making it effective in tight spaces. Also probably helped when I dropped it; the light mass helped decrease the force on the tap that was in it, so the tap did not shatter on the concrete floor.

It works
Does what it’s supposed to do. Screw handle doesn’t stay screwed in very well and causes the bit to become loose in the handle which can be an issue when precision and holding the right angle is important.

Meh. It's just...ok.
Not great but it does the job, I guess. Loosens up during use and feels made of cheap metal.

Great value
Not the best I've ever used but doesn't slip and gets the job done. Can't complain at that price point. I'd buy it again.

I would pass on this for something better
This is a pretty poorly made. The tolerances are sloppy, and that makes it hard to adjust this tool. Additionally, despite being tagged as expanding up to 1/2", a 1/2" tap doesn't fit. And ironically, being a threading tool, the threads on the handles are cut all janky. In general, just buy something else.

Its fine
Does it work? Mostly. But its a total pain to use, it doesn't stay tight in the tap and I have to put a Allen wrench through a hole in the handle to tighten it. It will also work itself loose as you use it.
