Crawl Space Sump Pump with Kit

I work at a manufacturing facility that has a weigh scale that is recessed in the ground. The pit is about 8 feet deep and long enough for a tractor and trailer truck to occupy(80 Ft). During rainy and wet times the pit could get 5 to 6 feet of water which could destroy the electrical components and cost 1000's of dollars to repair. This pump is a vital part to prevent flooding of the pit that houses these expensive weighing cells. I combined this pump with a Watch Dog monitoring device to turn on a indicator light so I will know that the pump isn't work if the water level excides 6 to 8 inches. I would also like to note the pit area is not clean leaves and debris manage to get in through the gaps around the scales surface, which is why the strainer can is important. The system is only 3 months old at this time and I have not had any trouble and the indicator light has not come on other than for testing. I will update as time goes on.

Installed this kit in my crawl space to help reduce flooding after heavy rains. I used 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe instead of the flexible tubing included with the kit for discharge. I plugged it into a gfi receptacle. After The last hurricane (Isais ?) there was minimal water in the crawl space I’m adding correlated pipe along the footers to feed into the basin.

I like the pump is made out of cast iron and really good quality. The bucket the pump sets in was a good buy. I didn’t use the flex pipe. Used schedule 40 2 inch instead. This kit would’ve been better had it came with the anti drain back valve. Instead had to purchase that separate. Unit works very well when tested . Would buy again if needed for sure.

Work perfectly under a house that water accumulates in the rainy season. Installed it pumps out the water with no problem.

We had some bad storms in Oregon this last year and had water enter our unfinished basement. Unfortunately, it was more than just a trickle. As so many people were having similar problems, getting work done by a professional wasn't going to happen for a few months. This machine saved us from a lot of heartache. My original solution was to run a garden hose from our portable pump out the window (the pump that I used on our pool to empty it). Unfortunately, this required me to manually plug the pump in every 2 hours. When the Zoeller arrived, we dug out the area that was collecting water, filled it with pebbles and bought pvc pipe that we ran to the low point drain. The hose that comes with this will develop leaks, so you will want to use PVC instead. We used the flexible hose for the last section and it was soon dripping all over. You want to also order the back flow valve so that water doesn't come back into the machine when it is done pumping. When I had a professional come out to put in some pebbles to make the water flow correctly to our drain, he said that they use this same pump and it is the best.
