Q: Will the charger that came with my DW945 charge these batteries?

I'm not sure of that particular model but these batteries charge just fine in the charger that came with my drill. If these batteries are compatible with yours, then they should be charged by your original. Mine is well over 20years old and it is an exact fit. Hope this helps.

Q: Do these batteries still take a charge after a year? Other batteries I've tried seem to only last a few months before they won't charge fully.

Mine have been taking a charge. They last longer than the original batteries that came with the drill. If you start having problems make sure your charger isn't going bad that what happened to me.

Q: Will these nimh batteries have good longevity if charged in the original dewalt nicad charger?

I charge mine in the original DeWalt charger and have had no issues. I have had my batteries (purchase 2) for over a year. The batteries have made my old drill run almost like new.

Q: Will this replace DW9048?

I would think not. Per 10 seconds of research using Google, DW9048 is 9.6V and these ExpertPower batteries are 12V.
