This is not a compact headlamp. But if you need light, with adjustable patterns, and aren't concern with a compact size, this may be the one for you. Has a very nice case, but I rarely use it. Has several modes, from direct beams, to wider angle, to combination beams, with low power and high power modes (battery conservation is the difference, I believe) Red lights, strobe functions and even a red tail strip on rear batter compartment, although it is pretty basic... I don't know how they came up with the lumen rating, except maybe by adding all the separate mode outputs together, but it is plenty bright for my needs, It lights up anything in my back yard, out to 200 feet away and the up close stuff is more than I need so, I am very satisfied.

The light is very bright and the battery life so far seems to be very good. As far as comfort, it does not adjust to much as far as fitting on your head. I don’t have a abnormally large head and I can not get this to adjust far enough out to fit comfortably. I would not recommend buying unless you are buying for a child.Update;Changed from three star to one and had it not broke already would have gone up to four. Figured out if you cut the top strap off and just have the two sides it fits fine. However, the light does not work anymore and have only had it since middle of December. There is a little wire that comes out of the battery pack up to the light and it has come loose from the battery pack causing the light to not work. I didn't think that it would hold up very well when I first saw it and it turns out I was right. Do not buy this light unless you want to replace it every month.

We got this for my husbands grandpa for christmas and WOW! Its bright, like unless you want the migraine of a life time dont look directly at the light! My husbands grandpa has to go out and load his outdoor woodstove at night and this has been a big help to him. There are a bunch of different modes. If you don't want it so bright you can only use some of the lights and there is a red light setting which is neat. The battery life has been good so far! This is definitely the best headlamp, I'm glad we found this for him.

The rechargeable batteries are a plus and a minus - they last a very long time and it's so convenient to have reusable batteries, but they make the battery pack a little on the heavy side; although it's on the back of the unit so it's not cumbersome while wearing it. The lights are SUPER bright! And it's very easy to use and intuitive. Absolutely love this little gadget - it's very useful and works beautifully.

While there are a number of LEDs on the unit, I can see that if you tried to get the same Lumen from a single LED, it would be huge. For the money, this seems to be a well built, well thought out and nice product, rivaling those several times the cost. Ditch the big box store. You'll pay three times the price. The only thing that I cannot realy comment on is battery life. Too new at this juncture, however with USB charging, it is WAY better than going through dozens of AAA batteries. Color me a happy customer.

This light has a lot going for it, multiple light settings from very low to super bright lights that reach out a good distance also a steady and strobe red light. It's light and comfortable to wear. Only thing I think would make it a little bit better would be a little wider beam on the main lights. Other than that, awesome light. Highly recommend.

Powerful and comfortable! Love this headlamp and the powerful lights is has. Several different settings and a great by for anyone needing a headlamp. Don’t think twice and get this one, real good value.
