This book takes you on a journey from absolute start to finish when it comes to selecting, buying, designing, and building a skoolie. Great pictures. I love that it is someone who is actually doing it for themselves that wrote the book instead of someone who doesn’t have experience to share.

Bought a bus recently and in the process of turning it into a house and saw a review of this book and thought... “well, why reinvent the wheel when someone has already done this many times before? Let’s see what they’ve already learned?” And boy am I glad I did!While my bus isn’t a skoolie, so much is transferable. Really. A bus is a bus, after all. His basic ideas are well thought out, planned and explained with how-to’s and often, with pictures. The aspect I appreciate the most is, unlike another book I picked up, the goal is not in making some glossy modern off-the-line ready for upscale executive types multi thousand dollars bus, his ideas wer more about using what you’ve got or can scrounge or find cheaply. (The other book’s re-do budgets ran $20,000 - $50,000).Apparently I’m not the only one to find they resonate with this book as “Skoolies” have formed societies and a culture of their own since the publication of this book, meeting and traveling together, or simply gathering for friendship. While I can’t see that aspect for myself during these days of the Coronavirus, I like this throw back in thought to the 1960’s and 70’s that I see in “Skoolies.”If you have a bus you live in, are working on, are thinking of buying a bus, or simply want to read about what people are doing with busses, I highly recommend this book. It’s a well put together and fun journey into today’s Gypsy’s caravans and their travels across the country. Prepare yourself for the trip.

I’ll give the disclaimer that I know Will personally, which some may think is a conflict for leaving a review. However, in addition to being one of the early folks to see the book, I was also witness to the hard work, research, long hours, and late nights Will [and Sabrina] dedicated to making this project great. I had a front row seat to his determination to produce a book that was helpful and content driven.I hope readers of Skoolie will not only glean lessons on what tools and materials they need to achieve an alternative form of travel and living, but also the inspiration to give something new a try and see where it takes you.

Wow!! So much IMPORTANT info in here! This is a must have a book if you were thinking of converting a bus. You learn about engines, plumbing, different toilets, heating and cooling, showers, wiring vapor barrier‘s, insulation, flooring, Wall and ceiling framing, solar power, climate control, cooking, everything!Basically they list the options, what they think is the best and why and key things you need to know. From there you can research on YouTube or Google exactly step-by-step how to do the actual work.They do explain how to do a ton of work! And they do have some step-by-step instructions as well but if you need something more in depth, there’s always YouTube.

Bought this book to indulge my skoolie dreams -- it looks like a gorgeous coffee table book, but it's full of well-organized, detailed, approachable information on how to complete your own build, from choosing a bus to choosing materials, different planning considerations to make along the way, and how to tackle the strange situations that undoubtedly arise from ripping up an old school bus and making it into something fabulous. Will's book tipped the scale in my favor, and we're now completing our own build, relying heavily on this amazing book as our guide every step of the way. Highly recommend for the dreamers and the doers alike.

I've converted a Transit Bus into an RV, and this book has proven very helpful to me during the process. I've bought 2 more to give as gifts. Step by step instructions, lists of tools required, pros / cons and what you'll need for the jobs are included, as well as lots of pics. If you're converting a bus, this book will prove very helpful to demonstrate the processes, and will save you more than the purchase cost !- Would buy again.

My daughter, who plans to live in a schoolie loves this particular manual better than any other. The photos are well-done and the home is practical and lovely. I love that they added their little prayer corner at the end. It makes the fullness & beauty of simple living come to life.

Améliorer mes connaissances sur la convention d'un autobus scolaire en RV. Malheureusement cet ouvrage manque les détails relatifs à la construction tel que plan détaillé incorporant des mesures.Tel que dimension des espaces, de l'ameublement. Aucune référence à l'aménagement d'un espace pour un passager voyageant à l'avant du véhicule.J'ai tout de même apprécié lire ce livre bien que j'aurai beaucoup aimé les détails mentionnés

Love this book! <3Really is a step-by-step on how to build your dream Skoolie with tips and tricks on how to save money while renovating. A lot of pictures to show how it's done and clear explanation. A great first overview on what will be waiting ahead of you while working on your skoolie! Greatly recommend buying.

This is a gift for my daughter who is converting a school bus into a tiny home or a Skoolie. The book has great photos and ideas and details on how to. She hasn't received it yet as it's a Christmas gift but I perused it and loved it. I know she will too.
