A Must Read for All Educators
Whether you are a classroom teacher, school leader, or involved in training educators, you should always keep a copy Visible Learning for Teachers close by. This is both a great reference for educational research and a comprehensive guide for planning and presenting meaningful instruction to students of all levels. Hattie's work can also serve as a standard against which other educational publications can be measured. I have noticed that he is widely quoted and misquoted by other authors who seem to be trying to ride the wake of his astounding work. Read Hattie first.

What Works Best, Not Just What Works
This text is an excellent text for an administrative team to read together. I would advocate that they also read his other work. For any administrators who are engaged in creating data profiles of their schools and putting into the hands of their teachers scripted curriculum that makes grandiose claims of success, this book will help to enrich the conversation about "Why are we doing this? and Why are we doing this this way?"

Teachers are the Major Players in the Education Process
John Hattie does a wonderful job of taking research and illuminating how teachers make a visible difference in student learning. Creating lifelong learners is the goal of teachers who are learning experts. Every legislator in our country needs to study the work of John Hattie and look to the successes of other countries like Finland. Investing in teachers who can make learning "visible" is the answer to our economic crisis. Education is the answer!

Changed my life
This book has become the foundation for all of the work I do. I serve as a Special Education administrator and now reference this as we look to trying new strategies, providing professional learning for teachers, and prioritizing time for different things (e.g. test prep vs. progress monitoring). It's a regular reference for me. The only con is that it's not available on Kindle yet so I can't have it with me everywhere I go!

If an educator was only planning to buy three new ...
If an educator was only planning to buy three new books this year, this most certainly should be one of those purchased. Hattie presents overwhelming research in layman's terms which provide insightful and practical findings which have the potential to greatly influence classroom climate and culture. Teachers are equipped to "know thyself" and know the impact each is having on learning.

Visivle Learning for Teachers
This is a great work, it really takes the guess work, out of what works (Good Research). Which has in the past been the rule of the day in education for so many years. It is time to stop the statement, "This will past, and we will gone to next BEST things" (The Cycle). Fads have been the rule of the day " Please! Just the Facts".Dr. Taylor, Toureno D.
