Nikon Action VII 7-15x35 CF Zoom Binocular

These Binoculars function in all the ways described in the product discription and hopefully they will do so for a long while to come.

I already have the larger Nikon Action 10-22x50 which have served me well for some years. However, their one failing is that they are relatively heavy at around 1000g. It's only recently that I've noticed the weight, probably as a result of me getting older.So I was looking for a lighter pair of zoom binoculars as I really appreciate the ability to spot a bird (or other animal) in a tree and then zoom in nice and close.I experimented with my existing 10-22x50 pair first to determine that anything over 16x zoom was too wobbly without a tripod (or chest pod or monopod) none of which I wanted to lug around with me.So now I knew I was looking for a pair of zoom binoculars with up to 16x zoom but still with the magic 5mm exit pupil size (divide the size of the lens by its magnification) to ensure a nice, bright picture.Lo and behold, little did I know that Nikon did a baby version of the zoom binoculars that I already had. They are in all other respects identical to the larger pair I already have but are 200g lighter (doesn't sound much but I noticed it immediately) and shorter.So for around the £100 mark I've got a pair of zoom binoculars that I can hold now for extended periods, have a bright image (but, like all zoom bins, gets slightly dimmer as you zoom in) and are a joy to use.Being Nikon, the optical quality is assured and until Swarovski bring out a zoom pair of binoculars under £500 I think this Nikon pair will serve me well when I go on holiday in various exotic, bird-watching countries.I can only recommend these binoculars to other amateur spotters who would like a zoom facility.

Just completed 10 day trip using these and like them a great deal. The magnification variability is extremely useful. Well constructed. Only concerns would be that they can become heavy if worn for a long time and it is painfully easy to lose the large lens caps (small ones attach to strap so you need to lose binoculars to lose them). I lost the large ones, but retraced steps and was lucky to find them. Otherwise, a great product. Clear lens, easy to use, top notch. Doesn't hurt to have that Nikon brand on them..

Une paire de jumelles de bonne qualité, de marque à un prix raisonnable, voilà ce que je cherchais et ce que j'ai trouvé avec ce modèle.Le zoom est bien pratique, à noter bien sur une petite perte de qualité quand on pousse à fond. Relativement compactes pour être facilement embarquées en vacances ou en balade.Très satisfait de mon choix.

I bought a pair of the Nikon Action 7-15x35 Zoom Binoculars from Amazon recently and was disappointed about various items. The binoculars were poorly packaged without almost any protection in a very shallow box. Then I found they were misaligned. No matter what I did I could not get them to focus properly. The Zoom feature made everything worse as I could not focus them at all on the x15 setting. The Zoom's quality also seem a bit low quality. Also, the lenses had finderprints right out of the box which seemed to have been squashed a little bit.The above was disapponting because I had previously ordered (not from Amazon) a pair of Nikon Action 7x35 Non-Zoom binoculars and the optics were just great. It leads me to believe that either the Zoom binoculars have a poor design altogether or that I received a defective item that was a return and previously used or both.

I purchased this item as "open box" and in fact the box was in very shabby condition. The binoculars seemed "like new" as promised, and I have found them to be essentially of good quality. The only issue I have with them is that there is no indication either on the binoculars, or on the packaging to suggest that they are made by Nikon. The pair I got was from a third party vendor and they were considerably less expensive than any of the others, but I assumed that to be a result of their open box status, not because they were a Chinese copy of the Nikon product. That said, I'm happy with them. They were a bargain at the price I paid, which was under $25.
