The Handbook of Technical Writing

The content of the book has so far been helpful with my Technical Communications class. The main issue I have had with the e-book version is the lack of proper page numbers. Most of my readings list page numbers. So, rather than easily jump to a page, I have to search through vague “locations” instead. I really wanted to like the e-book format. This version just seems to be inefficient to how I use e-books (quick searches to topics and pages). So, my main criticism is against the poor layout of the e-book, not the content.

Required for a college course. 3 star rating because I frankly have a major philosophical issue with the textbook industry bleeding already financially weary students. The only reason it gets 3 stars is because it was a functional product.

I love the fact that the information listed in this book is something I can reference even at the office. It will definitely be a staple on my work desk as a great reminder from my undergrad career!

I found this book to be helpful. The content is organized in alphabetical order, and provides extensive examples for most topics. When I did not understand entirely from class what format to use in a certain type of writing, the book cleared my understanding.

I used this book for class and it came in great condition.

As a project engineer and a master student, I usually write letters, reports, minutes of meetings, executive summaries. I found it Very useful, concise and has a variety of technical writings topics. Recommended for any profession.

Good book, yet nothing really new, different or better from similar books.

This is my first attempt at a Kindle purchase and I am very disappointed. I rented a book for an online class and soon realized there are no page numbers available. It is difficult to keep up with reading assignments without knowing what page I am actually on. I've attempted to find a way to contact Amazon for a return although there are no easy methods I see available.

Invaluable guide for technical writing. It's an A-Z reference guide rather than a book you read through from start to finish but it's proven very useful for my job. Quite US centric but it does at least acknowledge that.
