I found this to be of high quality and well designed for its purpose. My 100 year old grandfather has a tendency to scooch way too low in his hospital bed, needing res positioning during the night. With this, it is an easy task (note...easy for a 300 pound man like myself ) to gently scoot his entire body toward the head of the bed and reposition him comfortably. Although he is active enough to not need it. The wedges are for laying a person on their side to relieve pressure on first one sacrum, then the other as part of a timed routine. Most bed sores develop on these sacrum pressure points. Wedges can also be used if your loved one has a tendency to roll so as to not roll off the bed.

The padding is too rigid and doesn't lay flat under patient. The only handles are at the ends ,leaving the mid section unsecure. The wedges slid constantly not providing support to keep on side. Laundering this pad is ridiculously impossible for invalid patients needs.

I never had much luck keeping mom on her side using pillows. The pillows would shift & she would just end up on her back after a short period. Because these wedges velcro snuggly to the pad she's laying on, I can keep her on one side or the other for the required shifts to prevent bed sores from developing. I do wish that instead of two wedges they gave you two pads so they could be alternated for washing.Update: The pad is too delicate for machine washing or drying! It must be hand-washed only. This is not made clear by the instructions so I learned the hard way.
