Oil the valves liberally until they're broken in good.
Fabulous horn! Oil the valves liberally until they are broken in and you will totally like it-smooth and buttery. Nice tone too. If it wasn't so light you'd forget it's not brass!

Actually sounds much better than expected! Noisy valves - need valve oil. (Amended)
This trumpet sounds much better than I expected it to. I have been playing for 30+ years and bought this for the boys living in a group home to use. I'm actually quite surprised by the sound quality. Overtones are missing, but the scale is in tune and it slots in the upper register, fairly well. The only thing is that the valves, which are metal and housed in a metal sheaf, came totally dry. The valves make a sound of metal on metal as they are depressed. The good thing is they spring right back, so evidently the fit is pretty good. I can't wait to get some oil on the valves to see if the sound diminishes and if the move more smoothly. It would have been nice if the instrument came pre-oiled or if some valve oil (even, just a sample size) was included with the horn. All in all, I think it'll be a good instrument for the boys to learn and practice on.Addendum: I have oiled the valves and they sound much better and work well.

It's good. Get it.
I am new to Trumpet so buying this was an experiment. Bottom line, watch Youtube videos/reviews and you'll hear how good this trumpet sounds compared to a real trumpet. I ONLY RETURNED IT BECAUSE I wasn't sure what the tone was supposed to sound like coming out of a plastic/polymer trumpet. I found the youtube videos later. Pro trumpet players give it a thumbs up and say it's great for playing in the cold (band practice, marching bands, etc.) also you don't have to be so delicate with it like a brass trumpet because it's hard polymer, not going to break, bust and dent easily. Honestly I'll buy it again.

Surprisingly decent.
I had this shipped to my daughters house before our visit so I’d have something to practice on while visiting. It actually played well. It does need some time and oil on the valves to get them working smoothly.

Disappointed
The first note out of the box was clean above the staff with little effort. The one think that I don’t like, is the white mouthpiece with a white standard water key & large white logo when the photos show all black. Update: The trumpet fell apart. Broken valve stem and stuck valves. Very disappointed.
