Make and Play: Space

The media could not be loaded.  2.5 year old loves these make and play books. The characters are of good quality made with thick durable card. There is a good selection of pop outs: planets, moon, sun, stars, four diverse astronauts, aliens and vehicles. All the pop outs can be easily put back into the book to store away. The artwork is visually pleasing with lovely colours. Really love the detail of each character. Slight bit of a challenge for 2 year old to pop/press-out and put together, though once shown he did it with ease. Tough enough to withstand toddler crushing. There is a mixture of standing figures that require base foot/leg inserts, and hanging characters that require threading. Great for developing fine motor skills and open ended play. The back pages include recipes, songs and ideas with instructions like making a rocket or space wrapping paper with potatoe printing. There is repetition of taking apart, putting back together and role play. Will purchase more in series, already have the farm and Halloween.Only negative is that it only includes four hanging planets. Would have preferred all eight planets instead of four astronauts or aliens. After popping out four planets just isn't enough for a space scene.

Really disappointed!! We have had others in the series but this was was a real disappointment. It doesn’t include all the planets??? Two rockets, a bunch of aliens but only four planets, do not constitute the solar system.My four year old asking me, where is mercury mummy? There is only one with rings around!Such a shame!! If I’d have known I wouldn’t have bought.
