Works perfectly through thin materials.
I read a lot of reviews on several of these rivet nut tools and purchased this one awhile ago. There was a lot of complaints that the threads on the tool end strip out easily. I have used this one on several projects now and realized as long as you apply even pressure slowly while installing the rivet nut through thin material (especially the smaller thread sizes) there is no issue with this tool. You also have to keep it perfectly square to the working surface you are mounting the rivets to. Plus do not try to put the smaller rivets in to thicker material like plywood or steel without realizing it will just be a cinch type of fit not a full crimp as you see in my photos on my RV. I waited to write this in order to see how well the rivets held up to road vibrations and bumps on my RV. I now have a thousand miles with the tail light mounts and the side LED lights mounted, the rivets are as solid as the day i installed them. The quick release pull handle to un-thread the nut after installation really works well. I suggest if you are buying this for plywood installations that you use the larger sizes like 1/4-20 and up. I have used it in these types of installations with no issues. Works very well through RV fiberglass panels also. Remember to spread the load, meaning you may want to add holes and rivets in order to put less strain on the material the rivets are going through. I put four in for my taillights for just that reason. Great tool for the money.

Installed 105 Rivnuts...
in camper van build. I used 1/4 - 20, rivnut tools is awesome, and a huge time saver. Holding the rivnut on the thread w/ left hand and pushing the pull bar against abs easily threads onto tool, then you insert crimp, and pull the bar to unthread. Simple, move on to the next one. I pre-drilled several holes and applied Gorilla glue around the edges prior to inserting the rivnut. Mainly as a precaution against spinning and to seal the bare metal. After each of the 105 I installed I did screw a bolt in to check against spinning and to clear any glue. Very satisfied with this system.

Works great. Used it for much more than planned.
I bought a 205 piece stainless steel pack of rivet nuts, in a addition to the zinc ones this comes with, for a rebuild/upgrade project on my Tacoma. I originally planned on merely using it to mount the fiberglass hood scoop to the new hood prior to buildup, because I was making it a fully functional cold air intake. I figured if that worked well, I would also use it for mounting the step bar brackets I was making. I thoroughly underestimated the usefulness of this. It worked so well for its purchased purpose that I also used it for more securely mounting the flush mount bumper lights, mounting my electric fan relays, securing wiring along and through the chassis, and the list goes on. I ended up using about half of the stainless steel kit as well as all of the zinc M8 and M10 rivet nuts that came with the tool. The project isn't 100%, yet, but this made it a lot easier and cleaner looking.

Super easy to use
So far it's super easy to use. The slide mechanism for removing the die from the rivnut is wonderfully quick and easy. Make sure to secure that slide handle though if you're setting over head rivnuts because it can slip down some partially unthreading the die from the rivnut and possibly stripping the tool or the nut. Having a way to lock that handle would be a nice addition to the tool. The most important thing is that this tool makes perfectly set rivnuts every time. You don't need a lot of muscle to use this tool. If you break it, then you're using way too much force. Replacement dies are inexpensive and you can even expand on the ones in the kit for bigger or smaller sizes. I love it.

bummed
okay i know i bought this product because it was a. heater option but i almost wished i wouldn’t have bought it. the middle piece that you have to push and pull didn’t stay put so it was a two person job installing the nuts, especially when it came to our ceiling in the van were building.the middle piece would often get caught and because we were working in tiny spaces we weren’t able to twist the gadget around properly so we ended up stripping a ton of nuts, that will now be forever imbedded into our van and useless.i was hoping we would love this because it would have really simplified the process of our build but it almost made it harder and more complicated!

Good value compared to other options!
This rivet tool is probably the 3rd one I've purchased of this type. I chose this particular unit because it was inexpensive compared to other options, came with a small assortment of rivets, and seemed to have a good design.Ultimately it meets my expectations, with good functionality and ease of use. If I have any complaints, the finish and bud quality are not perfect, but it's much in line with what I'd expect at this price point.I would recommend this riv-nut tool to anyone for home/hobby use, it seems like it will last me a good while and be capable of everything I need!

Not a happy customer
Received my unit in short order. On the third riv nut I installed (10-24 size) the mandrel broke and the screw portion remained lodged inside the riv nut. I have contacted Tacklife directly using their "Contact Us" button, but have not received a reply as of yet. Will re-evaluate this product after I hear from Tacklife.Edit update: Tacklife was of little, to no help, on this matter, but I will give the seller credit. They replaced the entire unit. Thank you .

Quality product
I needed to rivet a new back window on my work van so I had to order a heavier duty rivet gun, not the cheap small one at home depot. I ordered this on a saturday afternoon and it was here monday morning. The gun is easy to use, easy to swap out nose sizes and we had my window installed in about 2-3 minutes. I would watch the how to video, very helpful, but all around easy gun to use. Highly recommended.
