Luis Suarez - My Story: Crossing the Line

Could be more interesting...
This is certainly an okay book if you're looking to get a good surface look at the man himself. Whether you like him as a player or not, this will give you a good glimpse of how Luis came to be. There was not much of an excitement level to the book. Overall, I was left with a pretty bland feeling after I finished it. One read through is good enough.

Great
It is great and you get to know what is happening on the other side. Being a soccer player is not easy and when Luis Suarez is know as the biter it can't be a good thing. And his story reminds us that they are human and give us empathy.

Honest and frank
Good read. You get a feeling for what goes on inside Luis head. Without the intensity, you won't get the player. I think if Luis is ever in a situation where he must win but does not look like he will, his frustration will boil over and another biting incident will occur.

Really enjoyed the book
Really enjoyed the book. Phenomenal read that places the reader in Lucho's shoes. Through the book we understand his roots, ambition, and intentions. Definitely adds another dimension to a figure that is often cast in a bad light. The book reads like a novel, or like a modern day "telenovela."

Honest insight into one of soccer's most controversial players
Many who follow European soccer have probably asked themselves, "Why does Luis Suarez behave the way he does?" This book does a lot to answer that question. If you only know the headlines about Suarez, it's easy to write him off as yet another spoiled bad-boy athlete whose behavior is tolerated because of his talent. But if you look just a little bit deeper, it's obvious that isn't the whole story. This is a person who has overcome obstacle after obstacle to get where he is today, not just in terms of his career, but also in his personal life. The chapter where he talks about his wife and what he went through to be with her is touching. Check this book out if you want to know what's going on behind the headlines!

A Complete Different Person Off the Pitch
Luis Suarez is my favourite player. As a Liverpool fan I was eager to read more about him, I thought it'd be interesting to see what goes on inside such a controversial figure's head. There is much more to Suarez than merely being a great football player, his story of going from 'rags to riches' is truly inspirational and his life is a love story in every sense, a love of the game and the love of his life Sofia. It doesn't matter whether you're a fan of Groningen, Ajax, Liverpool or Barcelona, this is simply a book for any great lover of sport in general!

Suarez explained'
Most readers will already have formed their opinion of Suarez. In the book, he attempts to fill in his background /upbringing to explain how the attitude he brings to the football field was developed - and it must be said is generally accepted in South America. What emerges is a picture of a man constantly driven to be the best he can be, and to be a person 'worthy' of his adored wife. More details are provided of the well-known incidents in his career -plainly from Suarez' view - you either accept them or not.....a good book for football lovers -and particularly Suarez afficionados .
