This actually works!
My nine-year old cat is an avid hunter. She was bringing in a kill, or live bird almost every day. I originally purchased the giant bell for her collar from this company and it worked for four days. This collar has worked now for three weeks. No birds, lizards, or rats (dead or alive) in my house for THREE WEEKS!!! Whereas I used to tentatively walk into my kitchen every morning, steeling myself for some level of carnage requiring a cleanup crew, I can now start my mornings on a joyful note. I highly recommend this product. If you have a bell on your cat's collar that you want to keep, I recommend putting a small stitch on each end of the openings to keep the bell from sliding into the fabric tube. The tube is rather wide and presents some issues, but they're not insurmountable - and applying a couple of small stitches helps a lot.

Bright, reflective, drops kill rate, effective day and night
Took a little getting used to by us and the cat, but this collar seemed to immediately help our bird population recover from the adoption of a very skilled one-eyed feral kitten. The collar cover is cute, highly reflective at night, and generally helps us keep track of the cat. She is killing far fewer birds and seems to still take out bugs, rodents and lizards. This type of anti-bird-kill collar cover with a quick-release collar should be a requirement for all TNR cats to wear.

This collar gave my cat superpowers!
My cat loves sitting outside watching the birds. He would occassionally chase one - but he never killed a bird or brought one inside. Truthfully, it was a bit comical watching him lumber around after the birds. But I felt bad for the birds, so I bought this collar to help the birds visualize him better. I was not prepared for what happened next. The first day with the collar, the cat caught and brought 7 birds into the house. He did not kill any of them, he gently brought them in and placed them at my feet. The second day he delivered 11 birds. The collar is well made and looks quite cute - but it in no way deterred my cat from catching birds - it actually empowered him!

Works so well.
My male cat became a capable hunter after one year of going outdoors during daylight hours. Since wearing this for 8 months, he has not caught one bird (though he did bring in a small rat once), and seems discouraged from trying. He adjusted quickly to wearing it, and though he has a thick mane, the birds seem to be spotting him. I bought three to cover losses, for washing, or in the event that his litter mate takes up hunting, but so far, she lacks the skill. An important step in addition to proper vaccines, flea/tick/parasite meds, and evaluating your neighborhood for traffic and wildlife to allow for a successful outdoor cat experience.

Not 100% Effective
Really thought this would completely stop my cat from bringing home birds. Not the case. Apparently I have a trained assassin of a cat. I do not really keep a murder count so I am not sure if it has maybe at least slowed him down. The collar has held up well and still is nice and bright after washing. I was amazed that we were able to keep it on him. He has only managed to get it off once. It def has given the neighbors a good laugh at least.

I wanted this to work…..
Our cat is a birder and we thought this might help but it hasn’t. We started him with a collar with a bell. Well that didn’t work. we got three of these, which slip over his collar so he still has the sound of the bell. Two of them have been lost somewhere in the woods, along with the collars. The one he’s wearing now has lasted for over a month, but has not slowed down his hunt for birds and mice etc. We left his collar on because we think he looks so cute and he doesn’t seem to mind wearing it at all. BTW We have friends whose cat wears one and it has worked effectively for them . So it may not be the product as much as the cat

Awesome product!
Have had this almost a month now and no birds caught! Our cat was bringing in live birds 1-2 times per week. So this collar was a relief to find. Now the birds (and myself) have no problem spotting her from afar. The fabric is very good quality and my cat has no issue keeping it on.I only make her wear it when she is outside. One thing to check if your cat is outside a lot is that there are no foxtails or spike weeds stuck in the fabric. This has not been an issue but it’s good to monitor so the cat does not feel like they want to take it off due to discomfort.Would definitely recommend if birds are an issue.

Great warning system
I have three of these in different colors for my indoor/outdoor kitty. Cats kill thousands of songbirds every year. Mine brought two into the house - dead. I read about these and learned that bells do not help warn birds - colors do! So I started using these and have not had any more problems with my cat catching the birds. Love the colors! He looks almost Shakespearean in it!
