Relay kit - What's a relay? This one works.
RELAY KIT2 wireless remotes and a relay.WHAT'S A RELAYA relay is a technogeek way of saying a switch, that's controlled by another switch. You use them when you want to turn something on or off remotely. One example is the ignition switch in your car. It has small wires that go to the starter, which starts turning your engine over. The starter itself has large wires running to your battery because it uses a lot of juice. It would be expensive and impractical to run those large wires to your ignition switch, to the starter, and back to the battery. So, we use a couple relays, one at the ignition switch, and one at the starter.A wireless relay is even better than the above description, because it allows you to eliminate some wires altogether. Although you still have to wire the receiver in - you can do that as close as possible to the device you want to control - then you can use the wireless remote to activate the relay. I did this for my wife's foglights after I installed them. We've all seen movies where they used cell phones, or other wireless triggers to set off their little devices. Those were methods to activate relays and turn their 'devices' on.This particular relay works at a great range (I can turn the wife's fog lights on from inside the house.) It is also versatile enough that it can be used to turn any 12V electrical system function on or off remotely - car igntion, lights, stereo, anything. The directions for this product are sparse - but they don't need to be too specific. The actual application depends upon YOUR imagination.Did you know your Malibu outdoor landscape lights are likely working on a 12V system? Mine are - I'm thinking about getting another of these units so I can turn them off and on should guests arrive when the lights aren't programmed to be on.(I would also recommend you replace those halogen bulbs with the luxeon LED's - 1 Watt vs 50Watt halogen will save you the cost of the bulbs in the first year of their 20 year estimated life span)Did you know that most of those wireless 'spy' cameras work on 12V systems? You've seen a teddy bear camera on TV to watch the sitter remotely - and make sure your kids are safe. The batteries in those can be hard to change. I bet they would last a lot longer if you could turn the camera on and off just when needed, instead of leaving it on all the time. Those halogen under counter lights? 12V (replace em with LEDs though)Your hot tub motor? (NOT 12V) - but what if you used a 12V relay to turn on a 110 household relay>? then you could activate a wall switch with your remote. Dreaming about the ultimate bachelor pad yet? Perhaps you are just thinking about how to impress your wife? The bottom line: With enough relays, you can turn ANYTHING on!(hope i just figured out how to turn on your smile!)

Perfect control for my car's cooling fans
One of the best C5 mods ever! When idling along in traffic, my Vette would reach temps up to 240 until the low speed cooling fan would kick in dropping the temp down to 200. Yes, I know the car can handle much higher temps and yes, I could have the fans kick on at lower temps by programming the PCM, or, as I originally intended, I could run wire into the cabin and mount a switch to control one of the fan relays, however, this little beauty gave me exactly what I needed with very low effort. Soldered one wire to one of the relay's connectors and I can now turn on the fan when I want to. No need to run wires and it works great. While its still cool, the low speed fan is fine, but if I wanted to control the high speed fan, all I need to do is swap the high and low speed relays. We'll see if that's necessary in the summer heat. Great purchase at a great price and although the LSx motor can handle high temp, I like the control this gives me allowing me to keep my temps manageable (real or imagined:-)). Highly recommended to any hobbiest that wants a wireless relay control.

Perfect for controlling remote trailer lights
The media could not be loaded. I need to be able to turn on some visibilty lights on the back of my trailer from inside my truck whether the vehicle lights were on or off. This little device fits the bill and works like a dream. I attached one remote to the wall inside my trailer and leave one in the console of my truck.Simple, straightforward installation if you have any wiring experience/knowledge at all. Solid and sturdy build. Not sure why it has 2 ground wires, but not a problem. In the video, there are two additional Amazon items integrated into my install:-- PryEU LED Strip Lights Cool White 6000K 12V Waterproof for Car Auto Truck Boat Automotive Motorcycle Interior Exterior 12'' 30CM 18 x 3528 SMD Super Bright UL Listed Pack of 4 (Black PCB) -- KAWELL 18W DC 10-30V 6500K LED Flood 60 Degree Off Road Waterproof Work Light Bar for Jeep Cabin/boat/suv/truck/car/atvs/fishing/Deck Driving

Nice range and easy to wire
I purchased this kit to turn on and off a LED flood lamp on my shed running from a Harbor Freight solar power system. My shed is about 75 feet from my house. This remote switch works every time. I can now turn on and off the lamp from the house to light up the entire back yard. Nice range or a system with such small controllers. My car remote doesn't reach that far. Perfect for 12Vdc applications. I would buy it again.

Excellent Remote Control
I use this 12 Volt Remote Control to activate and deactivate an Electronic Deer Whistle on my car. The Deer Whistle has a on/off toggle switch, but I could not get the wiring through the fire wall from the engine compartment to the interior of the car. So I connected this remote control on/off switch and it works Great! I've also tested it at a distance too and it works at a great range of about 40 yards. It even turns on the deer whistle on the car from inside my house. This is the 3rd on that I bought. I also installed this unit with a deer whistles on my Mom's and Sister's cars too.1 Caution Though: The remote control is base unit is Not Water Proof. So, if you are going to use it where it could get wet, make sure you either wrap it in plastic, or open the unit (only 4 Phillips screws in the corners,) and then seal the seams with a silicon caulk and then screw the two plastic halves back together. Let it Dry overnight before installing it anywhere outside or in the car under the hood. This is a Great Product!!!
