PlexiDorPerformance Pet Doors Sliding Track with Flip Lock, X-Large, Silver

I have had my PlexiDor for over 10 years since I remodeled my kitchen and I had it put into the new back door then. Unfortunately at that time they did not have these tracks with the flip lock, just side and bottom track so it was always in the back of my mind that it could be pushed out. I happened to see these and ordered them - although it was supposed to be 2 day delivery they arrived the next day! It took me 10 minutes to take the old tracks off and put these on - I love them - and sleep much better at night. I have to say PlexiDor is one of the best investments I've ever made - I've had 6 dogs and cold NE winters - and it makes a huge difference.

Like the door itself ( PlexiDor Performance Pet Doors X-Large White Door Mount ), which can be unlocked by simply unscrewing the top pane from the outside and removing the screw on the lock mechanism with a Philips head screwdriver, this track give the appearance of security but no actual security. The track is too wide, with a good 1/2" of play, and as a result, you can easily bow the door and pop it out of the track within a matter of seconds. It needs to be much tighter. Also, the fact the screws sit about 1/2" off the frame adds another good 1/2" of play when someone is trying to force the door in (since the screws will bend to the side as you put pressure on them. The track should be as flush with the frame as possible, with a small metal spacer, not a 1/2" plastic spacer. For the price you pay for this, you would think they would put a little more thought into these basic, fundamental design flaws.
