PHILIPSLFH3510 SpeechMike Premium with Precision Microphone Slide Switch Operation

Excellent product!!

I purchased this product before I purchased a new computer. When my old Mac was running OS12 the product worked well. On Ventura, (OS13) it is non functional. It inserts additional words and has about 50% accuracy. I have contacted Philips and have been talking to them for about a month. On the website, they don't have a driver for OS 13. They sent me instructions for a Windows computer for the same problem, but of course those instructions didn't work because I have a Mac. They told me to contact Apple. I have an Olympus and a Yeti Nano which work with my dictation software even after the upgrade to Ventura, but not the Philips. What a huge waste of money and time. I wish that Philips supported their products.

Am using the mic for a specific purpose - with Windows 7 speech recognition on a Toshiba laptop for medical dictations. I believe that the mic and Philips software are working well, although perhaps would be better with more computer RAM, as there are frequent delays. Issues seem to be with Windows speech software, as I can find no way to train new words. For instance, although I use the "correct that" function, which is supposed to train the software, there are medical words which it refuses to learn, and no way to specifically train them. Also, Windows software has a habit of stopping and offering lists of choices for words/phrases regularly, from which you have to select what you were trying to dictate, and then proceed. Not an efficient way to dictate. Mic probably would be a 5-star except for these (probably not mic-dependent) problems; also, would prefer a spring-loaded dictate slider so that it would turn off when released, rather than having to actively slide the switch at the end of each phrase or sentence. Relatively minor, but my only gripe with the handset.

My Radiologists use this mic on a daily basis. Between 2 Rads, they dictate over 100 studies daily. Best feature is the slide. One Radiologist does not like to constantly hold down a button while dictating. The slide feature allows her to slide it up and start dictating. Having the cord is not bothersome. In fact, I'd rather have a consistent power source (USB) instead of depending on the Rad to remember to put the mic back on the charger. So far, the mics have been clear without any distortion. I have not had any complaints from either Rads or MTs.

This is the fourth generation of Philips SpeechMike that i have owned over the past at least 12 years and coupled with the latest Dragon software it is by far the most accurate setup i have used. In the past I often wondered if upgrading the SpeechMike or Dragon version made a definite difference -- now, there is no question.

I'm a physician....and, with the lovely advent of Electronic Medical Records I get to spend 67% of my day dictating instead of concentrating on your problem or researching current literature to facilitate resolution of your problem!! That's where the Speechmike comes into play...this baby is the bomb! Love it!!! It makes a ridiculous process seem much more manageable!! And, really...isn't that how things are now? You will be very satisfied!!! P.S. Get the "slide" instead of the "push button"-much easier to use!

This is the second Philips product that I purchased. Both were dismal failures. I have spent over a year trying to make it work. It does not work with Dragon Naturally Speaking and better than a $15 mic would. Nearly all of the controls are not supported even when I upgraded to Dragon Professional. I am using MS Word at home with an old USB microphone and get virtually the same level of accuracy and facility.I ranked tech support as 1 star and this is generous since I am ranking something that does not exist. There is no tech support. Avoid this product. You are wasting your money.

In Kombination mit Dragon 15.x eine sehr gute Kombi und quasi DER Standard. Angesichts der guten Erkennungsqualität von Siri, Alexa und co. darf man bei einer so teuren Kombi aber auch was erwarten.Dieser SpeechMike hat statt der bekannten Kugel, ein Mini-Touchpad als Mouse-Ersatz, damit klappt es ganz gut und dürfte auch verschleißfester sein - und hygienischer zum Desinfizieren des SpeechMike. Die Handhabung ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Noch besser fand ich die rauen Tasten der älteren SpeechMike, diese waren weniger „glitschig“.Wegen etlicher schlechter Rezensionen mit Bericht von Funkabbrüchen, habe ich mich bewusst für ein Modell mit Kabel entschieden. Mitgeliefert wird eine Wandhalterung; damit lassen sich hoffentlich Kabelbrüche vermeiden...
