ShotTracker for Basketball

3/4/2016 (Update): I'm increasing my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars...and I'll think I'll get to 4 stars soon. Here's why. I've been working with James from ShotTracker support and he's been amazing. I reported all the bugs found and they are working on them. I learned that the iOS app is much more stable than Android, and it's true. It works great, once I updated my iOS version (I was on an old version). Android is still buggy, but since I have iOS devices also, this didn't bother me too much. I learned that if you take a twist-tie and tighten up the bottom of the net, it makes the net sensor get hit each time and now correctly records the shots. It now works great.My 8-year old son was out the other day and shot 175 shots by himself. He really likes the "Shootaround: 5 Spot Mid-range" option.It's getting better. When I have another update, I'll post it here.2/2/2016 (Original): Cool concept, but its just too buggy. I bought this for my 8-year old son and myself to track shooting. The wristband sensor worked pretty well when I was shooting, but when my son was shooting with the wristband, it didn't detect most of his shots. The net sensor only works when the ball hits it. If the ball softly hits the front of the net (like after a bank shot), the net sensor often didn't detect the made shot. Since the whole point of the product is to track your shots and show trends, these are fatal flaws.The app looks really great, very nice design, but it also is super buggy. Many, many crashes and bugs on both the Android and iOS apps. If someone from ShotTracker wants to contact me, I'll send you all the details.I really hope ShotTracker can fix the problems, because the idea is really cool. Just not ready for prime time yet.

I purchased this about a week ago, and so far it's been fantastic for my kids (6 and 9) and me. My 9 year old especially likes the leaderboard in the app for the current 3000 shot challenge, he shot 1300 shots the first day just to up his ranking. Previous to that, I don't think he'd taken 1300 shots in the previous 6 months, so you can see what kind of difference it makes when you have a goal to work towards.The app is great, it keeps track of stats, what your friends are doing, and has all kind of training drills for you to use. It's a very polished product all around. I'm using it on an iphone 5 and both the net sensor and wrist sensor hook right up without issue every time. Charge on both sensors lasts a long time too, it's not something you'll have to charge for every use...the net sensor I have is still at 100% after a week, and the wrist sensor is still above 50%.At the current price it's a steal for all that it does. Any kid whose going into basketball season will love it, it will totally change their motivation into trying to be the best online. First thing I get asked when I get home is "What's my rank today Dad?" and then he goes out and shoots some more to get back up the leaderboard.

This is a great concept and overdue in tradition sport(s). As it relates to design, everything from the box to the hardware is stylish and practical. However, as it relates to the operating system, both the Android and iOS apps, crashed often. Unclear if it is a hardware or software issue. So, the product is still in-development. As for the company, it was a challenge to communicate with them and have questions answered. Please improve customer support.Hopefully, ShotTracker can fix the problems, because the idea is truly brilliant. The technology is simple so a Coach or Athlete is empowered to collect and analyze performance data. Also, and hopefully, ShotTracker thinks beyond basketball and applies these technologies to other sports.

I purchased this for my 11 year old daughter after researching the different options on the market. I must say that I am blown away (and so is my daughter) by this product. The program has several easy to follow drills with the added bonus of tracking your shots. This gives my daughter an easy way to see where she needs to work. In addition, their is a strong community of user on the app that provides you with data about how you stack up to others in your age group. The biggest advantage is that it provides my daughter with additional motivation (and fun) to practice on her game. Since we purchased this she is averaging just over 100 shots a day. In a few short weeks it has not only helped her shot, but also increased her confidence on the court. Great product Shot Tracker!

Purchased for my daughter who plays high school basketball , she loves it , it lets her know where she needs a bit of help shooting and what area she is shooting well from. By all accounts it works every bit as well as advertised , anyone thinking about purchasing one , should. If it helps your basketball star improve their game , that alone makes it worth the money.

Awesome. My son loves using the shot tracker. Its like a game for him so next thing you know, he's put up 300 shots. Great for understanding where your hot and cold zones are. Totally worth it. Only small issue is the sensor sometimes gets knocked off of the net when shooting a good swish from distance (I just turn the sensor around and it works better). And also sometimes on a shot that hits the rim and goes through the basket softly, it doesn't count the shot make. Still totally worth it.

I purchased this a couple months. Works great. Might miss a make or miss every now and then but for the price it is a steal. I was more impressed with the customer service. The net sensor had broken and I reached out to them and they had a replacement in the mail the very same day and sent a prepaid label to send old one back. On top of that, they threw in the arm sleeve for my son for the troubles. Top Notch!

My son used the shot tracker for the first summer and a month in to the second summer. Shot over 40,000 shots in one summer. He loved it. Unfortunately, the tracker quit working. I reached out to buy replacement parts, but instead of letting me buy parts they replaced the entire shot tracker. The customer service and turn around time was amazing. Five stars!
