Would like to have more downward travel on the seating plug to get 1.200 COL without bottoming threads.

If you are loading any straight wall pistol case RCBS Carbide dies are the way to go. I shoot a lot of 45 ACP in pistol competition and don't use a progressive press so it is a bit tedious. The ease of using carbide dies (no pre-cleaning or lube) gives me an opportunity to: inspect my brass, size/decap and bell the necks before cleaning the cases in a stainless steel media tumbler. The brass comes out of the tumbler bright, shiny and ready to load. These dies come with 2 bullet seating stems - one for round nose or semi wadcutter and another for flat nose wad cutter bullets. RCBS is always my first choice for dies that I will use a lot.Check the prices on line or at your local dealer - if he has these dies they will be more expensive than on Amazon. On one auction site a set of used carbide dies were bid up to what I paid on Amazon for new dies and with Prime the shipping is included -- and they were here in 3 days. Can't beat that!

This die set has an carbide insert, lessen the need for a lubricant.Can be quicker to reload, skipping the lubing of cases.

Great set, I like that it comes with both type of expanders.

RCBS makes some of the best stuff in reloading. Made over 1,000 rounds with these dies. Not a hitch and they all cycle just fine in my competition prepped Colt Series 80 1911 and a friend's junk High Point 45. Carbide is the WAY to go. "For a Few Dollars More" (Sorry Clint E.) carbide is well worth it.
