Unbeatable buy for the price!
I am a hobbyist knifemaker and needed a way to put my logo on blades. Being on fixed income I really did not have the money to sink into other etchers which are usually about 300. I had tried to do some DIY etching and it didnt come out great. For $99 this little thing rocks and does the job! The only thing to remember is you do need to soak the cotton pad, not just moist for it to come out correct but the instructions very clearly explained this.

Great starter package
I use this product for etching hardened steel and it works great. I pair it with stencils printed on a Cricut printer/cutter and it is a terrific solution for marking my equipment and products.

Old
Was opened when I got it. Directions given, tells user to use a TYPE WRITER to imprint the film. Who owns a type writer in 2021?? And don't expect to return it. It has chemicals so it's non returnable. So I blew $100 + on something that will get tossed in the garbage . Don't waste your time

Disappointing
The starter kit was a huge disappointment. The etching leaves a blurry image and any black markings just mostly wipe off. The test target was 1018 ground steel, with a reflective smooth surface.Ps. The samples they send require a typewriter. Seriously. On the plus side, shipping was fast.A real poor performer this one.

Not for Aluminum!
Buyer beware. The manufacturer's website says the system can mark on any metal. What they don't say is you need a special electrolyte to Mark aluminum. Also if you are going to make your own templates using their special system and a laser printer the instructions are totally wrong that are included with the kit. I purchased the super combo kit spending almost $400 and to this day I still have not made a good clean Mark on aluminum.
