DOESN'T SUPPORT 600 POUNDS PER PAIR! But they work great for smaller loads.
Over the past couple years, I've used these casters on about half a dozen different projects, replacing smaller casters. These are for units that weigh 100-200 pounds, so no more than about 50 pounds per wheel. They work WONDERFULLY for those projects.A few months ago, I started a new, bigger project. This one was a large rolling unit (7.5' x 2.5' x 5') that would weigh about 1000 pounds when fully loaded with product. Over the course of about a month, I built two of these units. They were VERY difficult to roll. The wheels couldn't handle the load. They chipped and cracked. I had three wheels completely break in half. I had two of the casters where the metal plate buckled, causing the brake hardware to catch on the bolts holding the caster in place.UPDATE: In addition to the metal plate buckling, I finally figured out another cause of the problems. The bearing assembly that allows the caster to swivel has been pulling apart and that extra play allows the wheel to tilt, causing stress on the plate and causing the brake assembly to catch on the bolts holding the caster in place. The way the units were built, it would be difficult for me to access the bolts holding the casters on (I would have to disassemble part of the unit to reach the top of the bolts), so I needed to find a solution to replace just the wheels. I researched wheel materials, prices, etc. I found a similarly sized polyurethane wheel that claimed a 350 pound capacity. Not much more than what these claimed, so I was reluctant, but I had a hard time finding anything else that would work.I ordered a few for testing/replacement. The only problem was that the axle size was different (5/16" on the Albion wheels vs. 3/8" axle holes on this caster). I was able to "engineer" a 5/16" x 2 1/2" carriage bolt to work as a replacement axle. The inner nut fit perfectly in the 3/8" mounting hole on the caster assembly, eliminating any play from the mismatched sizes. A 2 1/4" carriage bolt would have fit even better, but Lowe's only had 2" (which was too short) or 2 1/2".It worked perfectly! It rolls FAR better with the Albion wheels, and shows no signs of wear or stress. I ordered more and replaced all of the wheels on both units.I still have the problem of a couple of the caster base plates being slightly buckled, but I won't have time to disassemble the units and replace them until after the holiday season is over.UPDATE: The buckling has become much worse, and the caster swivel assemblies are coming apart. I'm going to have to completely replace the casters, not just the wheels.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE FOR HIGH LOAD APPLICATIONS! They work great for lower loads, but you'll have problems if you come anywhere near the listed capacity. Reading the other reviews, I see I'm not the only one.The seller I bought these from (GS Tools) was originally very accommodating and helpful, replying to emails and offering to send replacements. The replacements never came and they stopped responding to emails. I had to file an A to Z claim.FINAL UPDATE: I finally replaced these casters. It took several hours to disassemble one of my units, remove the casters, drill new holes (the replacement casters I bought had a different hole pattern), install the new casters, and reassemble my unit. The new casters were about twice as expensive and only claimed 450 pounds per wheel (50% more), but WOW! What a difference. Instead of 0.1" plates, it's 0.25". The wheels are 2" wide. It rolls SO much better. Once the casters were removed and examined, I was able to confirm the problems I suspected. The plate buckled/warped, and the ball bearing assembly is pulling apart. I still need to repair the second unit.ONE MORE UPDATE: GS Tools did finally respond to my emails (the employee I had been emailing had been out sick) and made good on their offer to send replacements. They've been sitting in the unopened box for 10 months. I had four other pairs I had previously bought, and I used those for other projects. I had another caster plate buckle and needed to replace that caster, so I finally opened the box. In addition to the replacement casters, they wrote the sweetest hand-written note. I would purchase from them again with no hesitation.

8 out of 10 don't lock properly
I purchased two pairs of these in late October 2014 through Amazon Prime and sold by: Hand Trucks & Casters. They seemed great upon arrival and are working well on the shop cart I attached them to. The next test will be when I load the cart up to a total of 1000 lb, still 200 lb under the total specified load ability of the four casters. This original order I would have rated at 5 stars. I liked them so well, I ordered another set through Amazon Prime but now sold by: Fix Find. The product on Amazon was identical to the previous purchase, except that the seller had changed and a the cost had gone up a couple of dollars a pair. When I received the next two pairs, they literally fell out of the box when I picked it up--I don't know how they made it to my door. The one wrap of "Amazon" tape was apparently mostly dry when it was applied and overlapped only about 1/4 inch on one side of the box flaps. This allowed the contents to fall out of both top and bottom of the box. Checking the functionality of the casters, I found that two were faulty and the swivel locks would not lock. One seemed to function properly and after a bit of jiggling, a second one seemed to function OK. I had replacements sent for the two bad ones and these were not functional either--problems again with the swivel lock and also the wheel lock. Makes me wonder if there was a bad production run on this batch. So out of 6 casters, 4 are obviously faulty, with 1 good one, and 1 that may be OK. Not a great record.Amazon is trying very hard to get me 4 working locking swivels, so I have ordered 2 more pairs hoping that out of the 10 swivels, I can get 4 good ones that work and can return the rest. If you opt to take a chance on these, note that the last ones provided me with 3 metal splinters in my hands, probably due to the manufacturer not properly "knocking down" or "easing" the sharp edges and shearing splinters.Update--I ordered two more pairs of casters, hoping to get at least two more working ones so I would have four for my project. Well, they were NG as well. My test is to rotate the anchor plate of the caster and then lock it. If it works consistently 10 times in a row, I consider it a keeper. Eight out of the ten I have been sent now cannot pass this test. And once they fail, the continue to do so badly. Usually the rotational lock fails, but sometimes the lock lever/pedal won't go into a lock position so both the wheel and rotational locks don't work.I just noticed that now another company is supplying them to Amazon and that the price has gone up even more. So who knows what you may get from them. Buyer beware...

Solid, well made
These casters are awesome. I needed some heavy duty casters to support a solid workbench that has to move around the garage and slide to the side to allow me to park my car in there while I am not working. These casters are perfect for that. My garage floor is covered in saw dust and wood chips, not to mention the odd nail or screw, and the wheels have no trouble rolling smoothly around. The locking feature is really nice because when engaged, the work bench is as solid and immobile as if there where no wheels on the legs. I paid $20 a set, but at even $30, these would still be an excellent value. The wheels themselves are indeed 5" in diameter and the overall height of the caster is 6". The mounting holes are designed to accommodate 3/8" lag screws. I used 1" long screws with pilot holes and I have had no issues with the wheels getting loose. There is the potential with my woodworking to get sawdust down in the locking mechanism and potentially foul it. However, I have not had a problem with that yet and I believe a shot of compressed air would clear that up easily. I am building another rolling stand to set a miter saw on and I plan on using these casters for that stand as well.
