Crashes relatively often. Great music. Good for Vampire RPG players
It was programmed for Mac OS 9, so my Mac starts classic to play it. I doubt it will work on Intel Mac processors.Music is great; graphics are beautiful. Story line is interesting, especially if you liked "Vampire: The Masquerade", the pen-and-paper RPG, even if it does not follow the same rules and the enemy vampires are less individualized and easier to destroy (and much more numerous accordingly).Has some programming bugs and crashes relatively frequently; make sure you save the game more often than it crashes! (In my case, it will ALWAYS crash upon using the subjective view the first time I run it; so after starting the computer I run the game, I quit it, and then run it again, this time without much problem). As far as I have seen, my Mac has not been damaged by the game (contrast with another review for the same product in Amazon).

Exactly as promised. Box was a bit beat up, but what do you expect from a relic from the past!

Fun But doesn't Work!
I used it for a while on my Mac laptop (with it freezing every now and then) but then I got a new INTEL MacBook Laptop and it would not work on the New OS Operating systems!!!!

Great game wish I could finish it
I loved the game and got quite far with it, until for no reason it kept bouncing me back to the desktop. Tried getting advice from activision and still no joy. Love the game, the bugs are a bother

Mac users--BEWARE
I have very mixed reactions to VAMPIRE. The graphics are fabulous, the game is loads of fun, and I'd love to show my support of the product. However (and this is a BIG however), I warn Macusers to beware of this product. After playing the game, my computer completely went haywire. For some reason, VAMPIRE completely destroyed my internal hard disk drive on my G3 laptop. The damage was so total that I had to take the computer to a repair shop. After doing a complete systems check and a difficult repair of the hard drive, the repairman agreed with me that the culprit was the game. Even now, my drive is not 100%--it shows some signs of collateral damage. Mac owners beware!

Also had problems installing on my Powerbook G3
I have a bronze keyboard Powerbook G3, and could not even get this game to install on my computer. I have all the necessary ROM and hard disk memory etc, but the install process kept on hanging. So if you have this system, then I would think twice about buying this game, given the problems listed by the gentleman below, who lost his hard disk as a result of this game.

simply awsome, a great idea for the company to make
THis game was simply awsome. it has great graphics even when its at the lowest level of graphics. the story line is very intreguing and the switches between the time zones and places are awsome. in the beginning u r in midevil times and u r turned into a vampire so u cant ever get the women u wont because she is a nun. it is a very interesting story. i suggest that u buy it so u can find out the rest of the story for ur self

Wish there were more like it
Fantastic graphics, great game control, varied action, good plot. Unlike other reviewers, I had no problems installing the game or running - EXCEPT - it did crash a lot. But with frequent saves, it was still worth the inconvenience. (It did not crash my machine!). Finally, it was not so difficult that it could not be finished without a "hint book" like the Sierra games.
