This is a high quality, beautiful, wooden chess and checkers game set. The size is excellent for home use and for teaching young children the rules of the game. The chess pieces are held individually in storage, so when the game box is moved there is no chance of damage. The checkers pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be placed in the game box as well. Recommendation to the manufacturer: Make the checkers pieces such that when placing one on top of the other (known as king or sometimes queen in some languages), the top one would not easily slide off.

Really great starter game set! Although we had an issue with a couple of defective chess pieces, customer service was very quick and kind to fix the problem. The board doesn't show the letters and numbers so it would be a little difficult if you're trying to practice your chess coordinates. We were a little disappointed to realize that the chess set doesn't come with any additional queens for promotions, but I guess it's not a big problem. The checkers pieces are a nice addition. Overall a great product!

Decent set for the money. Love that it has full sized checkers instead of the bingo disk sized checkers that you find the stores nowadays.Stows easily. I don’t know how long the elastic bands that hold the chess pieces will hold up though.The chess pieces are injection molded and I had to cut off some excess plastic and reattach the felt on the bottom to get one of the pieces to stand up straight.Over all, it a good starter set for teaching my son to play chess. I’m pleased.

This game is very nice, especially for the price. I like the colors and the look of the pieces.

This is a gift for my granddaughter who asked for a chess set. I was excited that it had checkers with it as well. It seems a nice quality & a good value.

Really well made chess set. Wooden pieces are polished and carved nicely. A little light but side well. Board lies flat and has a nice sheen. Inside, there are elastic bands that allow you to store the pieces securely without them rattling around. Just had a few rounds and stored it away nicely with quality latches.

Basic play instructions. Well made. Wooden play pieces finished nicely. No rough edges. Great starter set for any age.

Wanted to get a reasonably priced wooden set so picked this option. Overall the product looks good on face value. Pieces do not feel heavy particularly when you start to play a game. More like a lightweight wood pieces.The board I got has little wood chipped off in one corner & also has a crack in wood across c8 square. Though its not something easily visible, still doesn't negate fact that product may come bit defective.If all you care is to just have something to play with then this is good option, but not as a show item.
