Keys to the Kingdom

Alison makes you work for The Keys!
This book was phenomenal read, but I found myself constantly wishing for the author to get to the point, but the knowledge was so invaluable that I suffered through the parts that I hated. I highlighted every key to the kingdom out of fear of having to read the book to find the gems. Even when I could just search the words in my kindle and find the keys. I felt like I was robbing myself of the narrative to truly understand, so I continued to read. Then I gave up completely and read the entire book only skimming over the truly pointless dialogue. The author is a gift to the earth!

So life changing <3
Life changing, like everyone else said. So many times I have to put the book down to let the HUGE lesson settle in. And it's not complex teachings either, it's stuff that's super simple that I've just been doing really wrong this whole time. But like Claudia makes Karen promise - I wont beat myself up, I'll just look for opportunities to do better. Love this book so much! I've read it twice now, and I'm about to embark on my third time.

An incomplete parable
This book shares a few keys to the kingdom in an easy to read parable-style story about a women named Karen and her failing marriage, and a wise sage who could give her the keys to the kingdom which would fix the marriage.Spoiler alert… any independent woman may feel offended by the basic premise of accept man as they are, their selfishness will actually benefit you.I keep trying to feel open to the information, but there is not enough or complete information. There is however a previous book, and another book after. But these books don’t really stand alone. There is also courses one could take, but this book felt less about selling the course, which was a nice change from the previous book.I’m not done reading the books, but I haven’t loved them yet, and they’re not making a difference in my life with my husband who may be in the longest “tunnel” in history

Paradigm changing Part 1 of a two-part continuing saga
This has been a real game-changer for me. At age 67 I'm no longer astounded to find out how little I have known in the past about men. I am taking exhortation that Claudia gave to Karen in the book to never stop learning about men. And in the process I'm learning I have not understand women that will either, and I will never cease trying to understand about women as well. Going through this book is an inner Journey that has challenged everything I've ever believed in. Thank you Alison for writing it. Now onward to Queens code I go! I have now listened to Keys To The Kingdom twice, and I will be starting my second time through Queens Code. For those of you goodbye reading the book, The excerpt at the end is from Queen's Queens Code before she knew it would be called that! They are basically one story split into two parts, with keys to the kingdom being part A and Queens Code being part B. I hope you will go on and read them both, and that you find it as paradigm changing and life-changing that they have found them. a nice benefit is if you buy Queen's code online, you can buy a downloadable PDF version, and bring it into some sort of eReader which if it has text to voice capability, then you can listen to it!

i couldn’t put it down
I’m seriously so glad I decided to read this book! I have learned so much about men. I actually feel bad at how I’ve been in past romantic relationships. I see my brothers and other men in a whole new light now. So many lightbulb moments. It’s a shame how men are treated and how many think this is the norm in society and aren’t even aware of it. It actually makes me sad. I’m so grateful I stumbled across this author and that I have this newfound knowledge. This is gold. I highly recommend. Now I’m onto The Queen’s Code next..

Toward A Happy Medium
Often, when a movement develops and takes hold in a society--to correct a social malady-that movement has a tendency to swing too far in the other direction. In my opinion, such is the case with feminism. Developed to prioritize the unmet needs of women at large, its principles and its programs served to meet those needs. This was (and is) a praiseworthy goal. However, something happened on the way to that goal: the needs of men at large often went unheeded or even denigrated. Just as in the case of the opposite, both parties were unsatisfied.Alison Armstrong's "Keys to the Kingdom" is part of a new movement: a laudable attempt to swing the pendulum back the other way, toward a happy middle ground. How does the twenty-first century American woman live in peace with her husband? By accepting three things that many of our foremothers realized almost instinctively: 1) men and women develop in ways that are fundamentally different from each other, 2) stemming from those differences, men and women have different expectations from each other, and 3) neither is happy living life with each other unless those expectations are met to a reasonable degree. In her novel, Armstrong ably demonstrates these facts of life. Her protagonist, Karen, has been married to Mike for several years but is becoming distressed by the lack of ability to communicate between the two. An older woman, Claudia, comes into her life and helps her to understand the "secrets" about men; those that have been handed down matrilineally in Claudia's family. Claudia teaches Karen that her husband's needs are just as important as her own, that they change as a man ages. The most enlightening part of the novel (for me) had Claudia explaining to Karen of the stages of develop for men. After reading these parts, I began to apply the characteristics of the stages to the men in my own life and found that they fit nearly to a tee. Behavior that I had previously found inexplicably--viewed through my female sensibilities--began to make sense.Armstrong is to be commended. She has done a great service for both men and women: increased their chances of being happy.

Extraordinaire

Alison Armstrong in Amazing!
Easy to read in story form but the information given is vast, Alison tells this in a way that stays with you and makes you want to read everything she has ever written. The best book I have read in a long time, makes so much sense and is truly transformational to any woman open to having more fulfilling relationships with all the men in their lives. Easy to read and as comforting as a hot chocolate by the fire on the a cold winter night whilst as enlightening as a pilgrimage through India, it's a god send literally! Next Read the Queens Code!

Brilliant! One of the most thought-provoking books I've ever come across.
Gosh, I had no idea that men and women think and function so differently. No wonder frustration and disappointment are so common these days in relationships. Many great loves end up in a divorce and the question is...How did we get here, what happened...?.I love Alison Armstrong's work, she makes you suddenly see what happened and hands you the keys to change your approach. Great wisdom, rapped in a compelling story that will make you look at men with different eyes and with more compassion.
