Frenby Portable WiFi Smart Speaker, Stand-Alone Alexa Built-in, Touch, Stream Online Music, Smart Home Control, Voice Control, AI Assistant, Clip-Type (White)

I left a review on the Apple App Store, contacted the manufacturer on Twitter, and am now leaving this review here. DO NOT BUY if you have iOS 13. Someone else on the App Store confirmed that it does not work with iOS 13. So its a paperweight at this time. I never got it to work, because I have had iOS 13 for a few months now. Frustrating that they are still selling a product which does not work with the current iOS Versions, rendering it completely useless. If I hadn't thrown away the box I would return it.

I just received Frenby, today, AND I LOVE IT! I never had an Alexa, nor anything similar to an Alexa before. I was always, and still am, worried about privacy. However, when I first came across Frenby, on a popular Crowdfunding site ... I, immediately, was one of the first to back it. Even, was helping to make it a huge success! I was looking for something like this, and PORTABLE, for my, now, 84 year young mom; and this portable AI seemed perfect! Unfortunately, the crowdfunding was not successful ... not because it wasn’t an AWESOME product; but I believe that it was because the Creator wasn’t familiar as to how to successfully promote it, or with the crowdfunding marketing process, on a Crowdfunding site. ;-) It was their first time ... however, I’m happy that they did announce that they had plans to release this on Amazon! I have been watching, and searching for them, since, their crowdfunding failed just a few percent short of 100% ... and I bought two of these (a black one for me and a white one for my mom), yesterday. I’m a Prime Member; so I received them/mine, today ... it was a ‘One Day Prime Delivery’ product! If you don’t have a Prime Membership already; I highly recommend that you join! AND, NO, I WAS NOT TOLD BY AMAZON TO SAY THIS ... NOR PAID TO SAY IT! I’m just saying, and suggesting. Anyway, I activated mine, today. Basically, an easy set up ... lol, yes, I had some hits and misses, and a little confusion (but, remember that I said that I never used one of these before, lol)! But, I did it, AND it works! I’m just feeling so giddy, and can’t wait until late September, when I go visit my mom, who lives in another State, to personally gift (and set it up, for her) ... her (going to be late) Mother’s Day Gift, from me! I know that she will love it ... well, after she catches on how to work, and use it! Which will, definitely, be another hilarious story, for my family ... smh!P.S. Thank You, Infotron!

I love that I can have Alexa anywhere I have WiFi, especially in the car. It “remembers” all the WiFi sources you have set up and cycles through them till it hits an active one. So, I use my phone for the car and work, and my home WiFi when I’m there.Despite having Echos in most of my rooms at home, I find myself using Frenby at home most of the time. It’s nice to be able to listen to Audible seamlessly as I move from room to room.The speaker is better than I thought it would be, but it’s obviously not a replacement for a good music speaker if you’re an audiophile. It is better than some Bluetooth ones that I’ve tried though.

This is the best tech item I’ve ever bought! I feel like someone from Star Trek using those communication badges they use when they need to contact the ship or talk to the ship computer when exploring a planet. I was very skeptical if this thing was going to work. I decided to take the plunge to try it. It answered lots of questions, added reminders for me, added stuff to my shopping list, and plays music. It does more which I can’t wait to program it to do within the Alexa app skills section. I will highly be recommending it to others as the best A.I. Assistant to take with you wherever you go. I can’t wait to use it at work!

I really didn't think it would work very well for the cheap price but the thought of wearing Alexa around my neck was irresistible. It actually does everything a echo dot will do. Setup was very easy and I updated the firmware with no problem. The only thing I have had a problem with is accidentally activating it by bumping the button with my arms. So I shut it off until I want to use it.

UPDATE EDIT#2: The latest update has fixed the issues with audible. Infotron has been very responsive and communicative with me about the issues I’ve had. I’m kicking my rating up again. UPDATE EDIT: Software update enables it to play SOME audiobooks. It seems like longer audiobooks are still an issue, but still an improvement. Kicked my rating up to 3 stars...Original review: I have over 1100 Audible titles in my Audible library. Frenby, despite advertising that it can play Audible books, will not play Audible books. Frenby does other things pretty well, but for me, not being able to actually play Audible audio books is a pretty big strike against it. I’ll update this with a better rating if they fix their product to do what it advertises being able to do.

If you have Alexa devices around your house, but you find yourself hollering across the room at times, this is the device for you! You can wear for Alexa on your sleeve, literally. This device is so small an portable that it will remind you of one those space series uniform communicators.This device faithfully reproduces Alexa functionality. I use it for adjust our thermostats, cooking conversions, and occasionally to play music. I really marvel at the function in this small size!
