101N - Classic Slanted Reading Desk - Natural - Large

I found this while Googling "Editor's Desk." I remember seeing one about 10 or 15 years ago at Levenger's. I liked it then but couldn't afford it. They don't make it anymore. But this is an incredible second choice and maybe a better one. I tried all the different writing angles (I believe there are 4) and I use the first one. It has a great writing and reading surface. I didn't realize how simply writing at an angle can help you out. I can actually go longer this way.This is a solid build and I believe is made in Oregon. I bought a Lifetime Utility Table (5 feet) to use as a desk with this on top. I really like this product. It is worth the money and actually got here a day before the ETA. I live on the East Coast. Highly recommended.

It is functional, good weight, and size.My unit arrived safely, but there was a tiny dent on the writing surface, and there were two spots where the finish was rough. For most people who use this for study, business work, etc., these are probably nothing more than a minor nuisance but for calligraphy work, it is a problem, and you will probably need to use a sheet of solid cardboard or something smooth on top of this platform.The stand wobbles a little when using an eraser. I see the hinges at the bottom gets twisted as eraser robs against the paper. This is not a major issue if erased gently, or electric eraser is used.The bookstand part is also good and functional, but there is not much to keep the book open and hold down the pages, so you might need to find some clamp or something. I just received this item today and started using it a bit, so I'll develop more ideas in the near future.Overall, this unit is functionally good, and probably the best (and the higest priced) product of this class, but there are a few things that were not entirely perfect.

This is an all wood solid piece of furniture that I probably will use forever. It's one of those things you wonder how you ever functioned without. Plus it was made in the US by an employee-owned company. It came faster than Amazon told me to expect it and was packaged nicely. It is heavy. Once you get it in place you're not going to want to move it around. But that works fine for me. I like that it's very stable. My husband who appreciates quality workmanship was satisfied and happy with my purchase. But he can't have it. He's going to have to buy his own!Update: Just bought a second one in a different color. Really nice product.

I bought an Ergo Desk for my office and my home office. They are expensive but well worth it. They have saved my neck a lot of pain. My only complaint is that you cannot buy an Editor’s Ledge (that extra “lip” at the bottom that others have referred to) on Amazon and the company will not ship them to California because of the extra taxes. I offered to pay more to have it sent to my home, as suggested by their customer service, but the company never responded. The ledge is a must have, in my opinion. Otherwise, your materials will slip off the bottom of the board. Without my ability to get that, I can only give 4 stars.Update - I submitted an order for the editor’s ledge and an extension piece, and planned to have it shipped via an out-of-state friend as the website states that they are not shipping to California. The company processed the order and shipped it to me in California!! And they were very responsive to my emails. I am extremely happy with both the customer service and their product, and highly recommend this desk.

It's a bit more utilitarian than the 401. But the lip goes all the way across and Ergo Desk makes an add-on lip for the 101. So I sent back the 401 and got the 101 with the extended lip. Love it. Use it every day with my standing desk.2-11-16 update: The extra lip is great for working on a pile of papers. For writing on a legal pad, the extra lip is too high. It is easy to slide off the extra lip, leaving a low lip that holds the pad in place and tapers off on the left and right sides, leaving lots of room for your wrist as you write. Initially I thought the extra lip should be permanently affixed. Now I'm glad that it slides on and off. I still use the desk every day; still happy to have it. Note that it says "ERGODESK" on the top panel facing the rest of the world, taking a cue from laptops that now advertise their brand the same way. I would prefer that it did not do that. I would rather not have brands plastered over my office furniture, please.

Really good value for money. Solid desk with very solid construction. This size ie perfect form my mac book pro 15" + phone and some papers. Busy with my MBA and this desk is literally saving my neck!

Great product! I had a similar item from Levenger's several years ago and wanted to purchase another. Unfortunately Levenger's no longer carried the item. But I searched the net and found this desk. Very similar to the one I purchased ten years ago. Thanks
