I wish I had had access to this type of reading aid during my many years of education and training.I have a disorder known as scotopic sensitivity, which is a type of dyslexia (which for me came on after having Lyme disease) which causes the following problems with reading; All the lines look alike and it is hard to visually pick out the one line that you are trying to read from the mass of other lines on the page. It almost seems like the letters are moving. It seems like the background of the page is almost blindingly white. You can't find the next line after you finish the line before.I was best able to read in a room with one dim light that was focused over what I was reading. Fluorescent lights were a prolem.I can remember what it was like when I read normally (before getting Lyme disease). The one that I was reading seemed brighter, darker, larger and clearer than all the other lines which were much lighter, thinner, blurrier, etc.It's as though one's central vision disappeared and you were trying to read with the same visual acuity you would have if one had lost one's fovea.This bar is the perfect solution. It takes care of the central problem, which is discerning the line one is reading from all the others. It does this not only by magnification, but also by highlighting with the yellow line.And it's so cheap! It would have been worth $1000 to me during medical school.

Purchased this to go with a price guide for my husband. The price guide had very small printing and thought this wouldmake it easier for him to read as the line is highlighted. However, the price guide was not a hardback and the item could not magnify the lines. Returned the item. However, the Seller was very good about expediting the return and also gave me credit for the cost of returning the item. So I would give the Seller 5 stars.

Too subtle. I like the line, but needed to use a different magnifying glass to differentiate between numbers, which was what my need was.

I recently lost the central vision in my left eye so reading has become a Challange. I like this bar because it does a good job magnifying and it fits in my purse.

I bought this for myself and both my parents. I have a small travel sized Zondervan Bible with really tiny text. I also bought two others for my each of my parents because it seemed both thrifty and also prevent my parents from having to buy a Bible with larger text. They are both close to sixty now and a Bible with larger text would undoubtedly mean one that is physically larger as well! So to save them from having to purchase new, heavier Bibles, these magnifier's where an excellent purchase! Also, the yellow highlight is extremely helpful and I don't think I would have even bought one if the highlight wasn't available. The size is perfect too, it fits every bible size and fits anywhere.A must have for anyone who regularly reads the Bible!

This is the perfect magnifier for read the fine print. It doesn't take up much space because it's only 6 inches long.

1.5X 6 Inch Bar Magnifier with Yellow Guiding Line A lot of people think that this device only helps those with poor vision. WRONG!! Having researched ideas to help my child who has a visual processing disorder, what a great tool to help enlarge words and be able to focus on one line at a time. The yellow bar really helps to differentiate the lines on a page. Every parent should own one - expecially those with childen are learning to read, or have reading challenges. BRAVO!

My wife has trouble connecting lines when reading regular books. She usually prefers her Kindle for reading where she can increase the line spacing and font size sufficiently such that this is not a problem. For printed books, using this guide helps her to find adjacent lines more easily, but it's of course a little bit of an inconvenience to hold this piece of plastic while reading.
