Pyrex Smart Essentials Mixing Bowl Set Including Locking Lids (Clear), 8 piece,5 quarts

I purchased this bowl set to replace the largest bowl in the set, (that mysteriously disappeared last Christmas). LOL! It was packaged extremely well and the shipping time was quick, especially for this time of the year around Christmas. The price of just the (1) largest bowl was almost the price of the whole set. Now I have (2) sets of these bowls, minus the largest bowl. Obviously, I would have never bought another set of the Pyrex Mixing Bowls if they weren't extremely well made, very strong, durable, microwave safe and easy to clean. The 1st set that I have was purchased around 10-12 years ago and beside one of the lids on the 2nd largest bowl doesn't fit quite as tight as it did when it was brand new. It still seals pretty good once you snap the lid onto the bowl. I would highly recommend the Pyrex Smart Essentials Mixing Bowl Set to anyone that is looking to purchase a set of bowls with lids, that are clear, see-through, microwave safe, extremely strong, well made and great for storing your leftovers in the refrigerator or wherever needed. Even though they are labeled as Mixing Bowls they have many uses as mentioned above. Great purchase and would highly recommend to anyone! A+++++.

First box of the Pyrex bowls had a defective bowl, wasn't cast properly. Amazon immediately took it back and another box was sent out right away. Perfect!

Pyrex still holds up best in durability and in the microwave.Even their plastic covers are clearly printed on the underside with instructions as to what they can and cannot be used for.The covers ARE good for the refrigerator, freezer and microwave; but NOT for conventional oven use and can be cleaned in the dishwasher TOP RACK ONLY.The shipping packaging was excellent.No name brands break and chip easily, fancy clip covers are clumsy to used I suspect may actually stress the glass.I would not even think of using those no name plastic clip covers in the microwave.I suspect that the claims in the descriptions for many of these no namers are FALSE and are not meant for microwaving, etc., and they certainly do not hold up well. They're ultimately a waste of money.

Fit one inside of each other and are great for mixing or storing!

I had this HUGE plastic covered bowl that I only used once a year at Thanksgiving. It was probably approaching the 20 year mark and was starting to show a lot of wear. It was the only bowl big enough for the massive amount of mashed potatoes that I contributed to the family get-togethers.each year. After using it this past Thanksgiving, I really checked it out & determined it was time for something else. I really like the Pyrex dishes as you can purchase them with lids and put them in both the microwave and oven. I found these mixing bowls and determined the biggest bowl would be a perfect replacement to serve the mashed potatoes. As it's glass and not plastic, I'm sure to find more uses for that bowl along with all the others. Extremely happy with purchase!

I had my last pyrex bowls for 40 years and finally needed to get a full set again. I left them at friends over the years (they never returned them:), broke one or two, and they just got scratches that only 40 years use could produce. I finally decided it was time to get a new set. Little did I know that they were made even better with thicker glass and a blue tinge that I just love, but they now have covers. I am in kitchen heaven now and would gladly give this set as a wedding gift, but am not and instead just enjoy the heck out of them myself. They are just awesome. I would highly recommend these to anyone who has not yet enjoyed Pryrex bowls.

I've been wanting a set of glass mixing bowls for some time now. We already have metal ones that are great, but you can't put them in the microwave. I ordered these because they come with lids which could be helpful. So far I've enjoyed using the bowls for everything except using a hand mixer. The bowls are not very deep so when I used the hand mixer stuff kept flying out of the bowl. I'll have to stick to my deeper metal bowls for that task which is fine.

I have two sets of these with lids and a similar set of stainless that all nest together. Meal prepping with the correct tools is much easier.
