First Thousand Words in Hebrew Paperback – July 1, 2014

We had one of these books at the Middle school, and the students requested more!!!

This is an excellent picture hunt book for anyone beginning or reviewing Hebrew nouns and verb infinitives. All Hebrew words are spelled with their nikkud, vowel pointings. There is a pronunciation guide in the back of the book. Often, the pictures with spellings make up a border around a center illustration that contain the same pictures without spellings. This provides an excellent means for self testing. Note: This book doesn’t teach any sentences, phrases or verb conjugations.This book is also offered in six other languages!I love it!

Very nice book for a beginner, but it does not actually display the English word.(Only the pronunciation)So particular words can get very messy, pinpointing what the litteral English term.Other than that, it's a nice book, and can't hurt to have around. If anything, it could be useful to learn better without the English words.

Purchased this for my 13 year old daughter who is taking her first Hebrew class this year in homeschool and we really love it! GREAT introductory Hebrew speaking material for children. I am a self-taught beginner/early intermediate speaker and I am excited about the book too haha! I knew it would be a great book since it is Usborne! We were not disappointed!

I had this book years ago and loaned it to someone. It was never returned. I wanted to brush up on my Hebrew as we visit Israel a lot now that my kids moved there. I re-bought the book and am very happy. I like it because the words (nouns only) are in the situation they are needed. You can be understood by Israelis with just saying the word and pointing or gesturing LOL. I love the book.

I love this book! It is good for beginners and intermediate learners of Hebrew.

A pretty nice book, the pictures are lively, reminicent of the Richard Scarry series. Good to use with children who are learning Hebrew reading.
