Work great!
Great design, I had to get a couple extra links to fit my APB's neck, this is a very good training tool once you are educated how to use it right! I'm still learning, but my first walk with the dogs was very easy and uneventful and there was no pain to the dog, no yelping, no tugging. I even tried it on, gave it a tug and it pinches but it doesn't hurt! Think of the guy laying on a bed of nails, pressure dispersal, now think of those nails being rounded and smooth. This is supposed to imitate getting nipped by a mother, it seems to work well with both my German Shepherd and APB, the Shep was more touchy to it. Both did very well and it was a 180 from how they walked on a standard collar. No yelping, jumping at other dogs, trying to yank mine or the kids' arms off, no stopping to pee or smell everything without notice, etc. They walked great, and I am sure after a little time with these, going back to the standard collar walking will be a piece of cake! Then someone else can use these!

Good lnks - you get three in package
Exactly like the links in our 2.25 mm link Herm Spenger collar. You get three in the set so its not a bad value (vs getting another collar for parts). Make sure you order the right size- these were ordered for the 12" collar with the 2.25 mm links. Herm Spenger also has other size collars & links (ex: 16" collar with 3 mm links). We used to use a larger link (non Herm Spenger) collar but this seems to be a better size for our dog (the larger collar was really too big and overkill for a 35 lb dog). Note that with the 2.25 mm links vs larger links, when you take the collar off, the prongs on the 2.25 mm link collar tend to hang up in the hair more (the larger link collar just fell off) probably because of the finer wire on the smaller links.

What a difference!
I have a 95lb, leash reactive male German Shepherd. He's an amazing dog, but pulls on his leash and is reactive to other dogs and delivery vehicles...he knows the Amazon Prime, FedEx, and UPS vehicles all too well! After some initial hesitation, prong collars look medieval after all, I did some research and decided this was the correct tool to use to correct his undesirable behaviors. Before I would put it on him, I put it on myself, applied pressure and was satisfied I wasn't employing a tool that would cause him painLiterally after our first walk, his behavioral problems disappeared. He started to lunge and bark once on that initial use, I gave him the sideways tug for a correction, and he hasn't done it again. He no longer pulls, reacts to other dogs or familiar vehicles and is more attentive to commands. He looks forward to his walks like before and shows absolutely no hesitation in letting me put it on him. I couldn't be happier with the product.I will say that he's a large dog with a thick mane; his neck measures around 18". I had to use an additional two links on top of this collar and the three extra links that came included, for a total of five extra links total. The only "knock" I have is that it isn't the easiest collar to get on, but it's secure and I don't have any extraordinary difficulties getting it on or off. If you have arthritis or any issues with finger dexterity, a collar with a clasp would be more to your liking.

No more pulling
It works!!! I'm able to walk my dog again without being pulled off my feet.

Works great for my extreme puller!
Great training collar! I bought this for my 1yo, 70lb ridgeback mix. I had to buy a couple more links, but it fits him fine.He is an extreme puller!!! I had the large version of this collar before and he would still pull pretty badly. It's rare that he pulls with this collar, when he does it's not for long (or as hard). The smaller version isn't as obvious as the large one, which is nice for haters of prong collars. I'm definitely glad I bought this, he's finally well behaved on walks! The one con about the smaller version... the pinch release is a nice feature. BUT, it can come apart on it's own. I didn't have this issue with the large collar. It's a little tricky to get it connected to the tiny links on the small collar. Once I have it connected, I jiggle it to make sure it's in there good. If I forget to do that, there is a 50% chance it will come off during a walk, usually immediately. I only use this collar for walks. I attach the leash to his normal collar if he's playing with another dog so it doesn't come off while they are playing (which has happened) or get stuck on the other dogs teeth/collar.If your dog is a flight risk, I would walk him with a second leash attached to his normal collar incase the prong collar pops off. You could also buy the large version or prong collar without the pinch release. But the large version might not work if you have an extreme puller. And the normal prong collar is pretty tough to get on off. But its whatever is safe and works best for your dog. Good luck!

I can now walk my dog, instead of him walking me!
Herm Sprenger was actually recommended to me when I called into amazon for a different product issue (which was solved amazingly). The amazon rep noticed in my account that I had dogs. We just started chatting, and she trains dogs for the military. I had mentioned that my lab I don't take walks with my lab due to having difficulty with training, and pulling. I had tried all kinds of products, and nothing helped. She told me about the Herm Sprenger product, and said those are the only brand to use, and they don't hurt the dog. Other products aren't designed the same way and actually poke and hurt the dog. She put what exactly what I needed in my cart for me, so I could see what she was referring to. I had a free consultation with an expert. My dog was NOT happy the first time we used it, but quickly adjusted. She also told me to do a search on You Tube specifically for Herm Sprenger to see how to use the product correctly. Fantastic product, and fantastic customer service.
