Perfect for Filling Pool with Well Water
The first time I filled my pool, which is a little over 1,000 gallons, the water turned completely greenish/brown. After finding out this was due to using well water I looked for a filter and came across this one. I read the reviews about the caps coming off the ends so I drilled screws through both ends and had no problems there. As you see the pool water came out completely clear after using this filter and has stayed clear for about a month now. I will be buying this filter again next year. However, anyone using well water to fill their pool just remember that the alkalinity will be high and therefore the pH will be high too so make sure you buy a good PH reducer and you’ll be good to go. I did add a little bit of metal remover when I first filled the pool as a precaution but to be completely honest I don’t think it was needed because the filter worked so good.

Perfect For filtering High Mineral Content and Muddy Water
This product worked wonderfully. I am on a well and have a hard water rating of 9 out of 10 (10 being the worst). In addition I'm in a high flood zone so ground water builds up and can make my well water muddy and gritty. I would fill my spa from the garden hose and the water would be brown and silt and other particles from the soil would settle in the bottom. I would drain and fill the spa and it would be filthy even with new water in it. I was at the point where I was going to start paying to have it professionally filled - which can be very costly - then my spa repair guy recommended getting one of these. It is fantastic! You can only get a limited number of fills out of it before you'll need to replace it - but for the price it's well worth it. It is cheaper than having someone come out to fill your spa and the water was sparkling clean when it went in. It does the job!!! I will definitely be buying one of these again! I've used it twice so far with excellent results. I'm guessing I'll get about four more fills out of it before needing to look at buying a replacement. Well worth the cost!!

Essential but inconsistent results
We've bought two of these and each seems to be good for two fills on our hot tub. The first filter we bought seemed to work great. We have a lot of iron in our well water; even though we have a whole house filter to get out a lot of it, some still gets through, so I really wanted to use this in conjunction with a metal remover solution for fresh fills. This combination worked great with the first pre-filter we bought with two flawless fills. The latest filter we bought, however, seemed to miss a lot. The water was cloudy and had an odd smell to it even after 48 hours. I was ultimately able to get everything out with a water clarifier and 24 hour filter cycle, but I'm not sure why the first pre-filter was so much more effective than the second. Regardless, we'll continue to buy as needed for future fills as I do think this is an essential step in getting a good start.

Every Spa Owner Should Have This!
I bought a house and it came with a spa in a sunroom. I have lived here for four years but never used it until COVID-19 and then I finally started looking into it for relaxation from all the stress living in a pandemic and still having to work. This filters the water going into the spa which allows you to eliminate contaminants and after I filled up the spa and added shock treatment, my ph and other levels were spot on. I have no way to compare it to filling without the filter but any way you can filter the water going into the spa will help in longevity and keep your spa operating at optimum efficiency. One month later now, and I put it on the garden hose from time to time as the water evaporates and the spa needs refilling. Great product! I highly recommend it! Seller service was fast and economical!

Very happy with the cleaner water
I used this for filling my Jacuzzi model 300 spa. My first time filling, we DID NOT use one, and upon filling the spa, the water looked grey. About an hour after filling, there was a dirty water line around the top of the Jacuzzi.BUT the second time I filled it using this new water filter. WOW.. the water was clear, and no water line. I am not sure but I also believe that the built in Jacuzzi filters remained cleaner longer as well. I also believe that it was easier to balance the chemicals as well since some of the solids that normally get delivered in the water were removed. I now use this every time I add water to the Jacuzzi.

Clear water in the hot tub
This filter attach perfect to the regular garden hose, it took me around 6 hours to fill my hot tub, but it worth the wait. After cleaning and emptying the hot tub, the clear water was easier to treat with less products to balance the water alkalinity. Very happy with the purchase.

This item does not filter out rust.
I have a well and when my wife bought an inflatable swimming pool, I ended up with a significant amount of rust particles. It was like there were piles of red sand covering half of the pool's floor. When you got in, it would kick up into a cloud. We got rid of the pool. This Spring I needed to replace the water in our hot tub. It is a large hot tub. I had heard about filters you can put on a garden hose. I decided to try this one because of the cost. When the 8 person hot tub was full, there was no rust piles to be found. I mistakenly thought this filter had done the job. as it turned out, the rust has pooled where I couldn't see it.When I started up the hot tub the water became murky. Again I mistakenly thought it was algae in the pipes. Two days later when the hot tub filter turned red, it was obvious. I am very disappointed. I don't know what could be in my well water that this filter would actually filter out. It certainly is not rust. I would not buy this again.

End Caps Pop Off - Filters Well
I've used these filters to filter my pool water for approximately 4 to 5 years now. The cost is dcescent and they do a good job of filtering the irony water. One reviewer nailed it though when they commented on those blue plastic end caps, they have a tendency to fall off. It's happened to me a few times now and it's aggravating. I can only assume that the glue that holds them on is pretty cheap. I continue to buy them though because they do the job, however the first thing I do when I get them is screw the blue end caps on with stainless steel screws (two per end). When I'm ready to toss the filter in the trash I remove the screws and use them again next year.
