Tofu Press - Get More Out of Your Tofu with The Most Efficient Tofu Press

I learned about tofu presses after reading reviews of an online recipe. The recipe said to weight the tofu with a plate and heavy object, as I have done in the past. The recipe reviewer said she used a tofu press, the first I ever heard of one. All of the presses on Amazon have their detractors. I took a chance on this one and am pleased with how it works and how sturdy it is. Using this press, it took out much more water, more quickly and with less hassle. Put the tofu in, reassemble, and tighten firmly, not forcefully. After twenty minutes or so tighten a little more if you want. The texture improves over the weighted plate method and more of the marinade is absorbed, if you are marinating the tofu. It is made of plastic, but feels very durable.

For this price, this press is everything I need. It's easy to use, not very hard to clean, easy to store, and I can easily press tofu with it now. No more heavy books and paper towels - I just put my tofu in this, leave the tofu press in a bowl to collect the water, and let the tofu press for however long I like. The size of this press is amazing since I do not have a lot of storage space for some of the bigger tofu presses out there.

This was my first tofu press so I have nothing to compare it to. I had a choice between this one and one made in China. I like this one vs any made in the US because this one had a place where the water drained. The hard part was finding people who reviewed it. Not much anywhere. I almost returned it because I didn’t think it worked.The only real negative is I feel like the drain wasn’t even, in the end I purchased this on because of the name and the cute bag it came with but my tofu tasted great!! I think it gets the job done and it’s the perfect size. I got about a cup of water after about 45 minutes.The warranty is lifetime so this made me feel good about buying it. Very easy to use it with one hand as well. Plus I love the pattern it created on the tofu little flowers.

If I could give it a 4.5 star rating, I would. The only reservation or complaint I have about this product is that it does not squeeze evenly - the set up and working of it are very simple and it does a very good job of removing moisture from the tofu. However, the pressure exerted is uneven so one end of the tofu is a little larger than the other when I am done. That is not a deal breaker and I do like this over using plates, weights and paper towels.

The media could not be loaded. It works really well. Easy to assemble and easy to tighten. Fits 16 oz. Sturdy. No complaints at all.I saw another review where someone was complaining about a couple of pieces not being connected and that they welded the pieces together. These pieces aren’t meant to be connected. You can see on the video it tightens fine. If they were connected it wouldn’t operate as well.

This product has solved the problem of soggy tofu for me. It’s compact, light and easy to use. You need to plan ahead slightly as the tofu has to be pressed/ squeezed over about 20 mins but that gave me enough time to do all the other prep work. The tofu comes out firm and then can be used in any dish. I noticed it was much more crispy in my usual stir fry and held the flavors well.An added bonus is that the press can go in the dishwasher. Quick tip, when you are using the press pop it in a sieve over the sink - it’s surprising to see how much moisture runs out of the tofu.

Now here's something simple, inexpensive, but that made my life a bunch easier. After years of pressing tofu under heavy cans that were never secure and never pressed as strongly as needed, this little beauty has made my day. It's easy to use, easy to clean, small to store, and does a superior job of pressing tofu. I wish more things in life fit as well as this press.

The name is the best. When describing it to people who don't cook, I tell them I cook tofu with that tofu thing. It really makes a HUGE difference in cooking with tofu. I have long loved tofu, but I didn't like the soggy towels. This is so easy to use, even with weak hands. I like that the screw can be tightened just as much as you want, so you can press your tofu a lot or a little depending on what your recipe needs are.I wish I had gotten it years ago.

This tofu press may seem a little expensive...but the old saying you get what you pay for!It is very well made (not from China) and will likely be the only tofu press I will ever have to buy. It's easy to use and everything comes apart for simple cleaning. It comes with it's own cloth storage bag too.Will be purchasing another one for my daughter.

Voilà plus de 35 ans que je mange du tofu, que je le cuisine dans tous les sens et j'adore ça. Mais cette presse à tofu a fait monter le jeu d'un cran ! Grâce à la pression constante entre les plateaux, on va pouvoir chasser un maximum d'eau à coeur du tofu et le rendre plus ferme. Et ça change tout en cuisine. Le dispositif est solide, facile d'utilisation et a nettoyer. Je recommande plus que chaudement !

I was a bit sceptical about how different tofu would taste when using a tofu press. Well I have to say it's amazingly different. The texture is great, it crisps up when you cook it, but most importantly it takes on flavours wonderfully. A fabulous little gadget, simple, well-designed and very easy to use and easy to clean. I can't believe the amount of liquid that comes out of a block of tofu! Even my husband who normally gurns if I say we're having tofu is impressed and the gurning has stopped ;) ! Highly recommend this gadget, especially if you are veggie or vegan, it will elevate the taste of your cooking significantly. So pleased I eventually bought this, after ages of dithering.
