Especially if something is bulky and will take up precious storage space, which is why I’ve never purchased a mandoline, which is a specialized sort of grater that allows you to get more precise and intricate shapes out of vegetables. Instead I’ve made do with a high quality peeler and just lived with the fact that my zucchini “noodles” were more of a paparadelle in width then a linguini. [Check out my video on decluttering your kitchen tools here.] Needless to say I was thrilled to come across this peeler that has a traditional “peel” side and then voila, flip it over and you can julienne with the other side. I tried the peeler on carrots, apples and celery and it worked really well. I used the julienne side on zucchini and you can see the results for yourself. My only complaint is that the julienne side can get a bit stopped up, but that’s to be expected with the smell spaces (see the second photo). At less than $10 (list price is $29.99 but it retails for about $9 on ), and made out of stainless steel, it is well worth the price and will be hung-up with pride in the area for my “high-use” kitchen tools. From an eco point of view, I also appreciate the 100% metal construction because it is easy to recycle when the time comes. The design is excellent, the weight of the product feels high quality, and I would easily give this as a host or housewarming gift. You can purchase this product here.

This is without a doubt the best peeler I have ever used
This is without a doubt the best peeler I have ever used. It shaves of the thinnest portion of skin I have ever seen. I uses it yesterday to skin a Kiwi fruit that was over ripe. Anyone who has tried to do this knows how messy and poorly this will turn out. I won't say this peeler did a perfect job, because nothing can, it did the job better than any other peeler could have. I could cut nice round slices of the fruit when I was done and that is more than I can say about any other peeler I have tried.

I was thinking of buying a spiralizer to make "noodles" from fresh vegetables. While reading reviews I found one that recommended this julienne peeler as just as good but for far less money. I ordered the peeler and received it in less than 2 days, nicely boxed. It seemed visually very sturdy, shiny and sharp. Tonight I used it to make a wonderful dinner of shredded zucchini noodles. It worked perfectly​, and cleaned easily. At this price, I will probably buy more for family members.

THE ONE AND ONLY
I take great pleasure in my review on this all-n-one cook's tool. Have experienced the functional ways, especially when freezing my cheeses and thin slicing. It's so lightweight and sharp. I can hold item with 1st 3 fingers w/o pressure. As a cook, I purchase good quality cook tools that adhere to repetitive use. This peeler should be in all kitchens. Many thanks for having this creative tool for all to enjoy.

The best, in every way!
Makes "spiralized" veggies quick as anything, and the peeler works great too. Much more control and quicker, better results than the other designs. And the price is fantastic.

I love this peeler
I love this peeler. It takes off just enough. Today I made beautiful julienned carrots for a salad in minutes, no additional equipment needed!

fantastic tool
This is a fantastic peeler! The julienne side is perfect for hash browns, or carrots for on top of a salad, etc. it's not a perfect julienne, but it's not a grater either.The other side has a slight pattern to it. It slices nice and thin and it's definitely sharp (I speak from experience....watch your fingers!)

Great peeler, very good quality
Great peeler, very good quality. But sharp, very sharp, so for a reluctant cook like me, almost sliced off my finger. My fault though, not the peeler, because I would but it again if I had to.
