Stylish and functional with Ironman features
Great watch! The first one died on me after 1 week of use. The top lcd segment of all the numbers stopped displaying. The seller refunded my money. I then purchased the same watch from another vendor. This watch lived longer than the first one so my fingers are crossed.Overall this is a nice watch. It IS heavy though as others have mentioned. It shouldn't bother you though. It weighs in somewhere between 5 and 6 oz.During the day, the numbers are easy enough to read however during low light conditions, it is very hard to read. You will need to use the Indiglo light for sure. It has a great feature that I call stealth mode where, you are able to hide all of the numbers on the face, leaving only a blank, black face. It is like having 2 watches in one. The black finish if very shiny and seems to be very durable.I only have 1 issue with the watch and that is the Indiglo doesn't stay illuminated long enough. If it stayed on for an additional second or two, I would be a happy camper. Other than that, it is one of the best looking Timex Ironman's I have ever seen or owned. As a side, I swapped out the rubber watch bands and replaced the band with a metal one due to skin irritation. This watch has 24mm lugs with a curved end so the choices for a low cost replacement metal band were very few. I found a locking metal band for under 20 dollars on amazon. I had to modify the bands attachment points so it fit. IMO, It looks even better with the metal band...almost like a "regular" watch that costs a couple of hundred dollars.

Almost Perfect, But Flawed Design
This watch is very close to being the perfect balance between dressy and sporty, but Timex missed the mark on a few things.1) The physical analog hands are very difficult to see in many lighting conditions. Instead of being solid, they are hollow in the middle. As such, the thin outlines that constitute the hands don't provide enough contrast with the dark background to be legible unless in fairly well lit environments. Furthermore, if the digital background is turned off and you press the Indiglo light to see what time it is in the dark, the diminutive analog hands are almost impossible to see. There's just nothing there to illuminate, so you have to switch to digital mode to tell time in the dark. This is by far my biggest gripe about the watch because I specifically wanted something that had the simplicity and elegance of an analog design most of the time, then occasionally use the added convenience features of a digital watch. There are many such designs out there, but most have tiny digital displays cut into the analog face. The fact that the large digital background can be turned off to make the watch look more dressy is exactly what I'd been looking for over the past few years, but the shortcomings of the resulting analog display are bothersome. Timex needs to make the hands a solid piece of metal/plastic/whatever, and those need to be painted white to give them enough surface area and contrast to make the analog mode useful.2) Unlike virtually every analog watch in the world, there is no luminous material applied to any of the hands or to the hour indices (the 1, 2, 3, 4 etc o'clock positions). As such, the watch is 100% dark when the lights are out. In such cases, it's not possible at all to tell what time it is without pushing the Indiglo button, and even that is essentially useless when in pure analog mode, as mentioned above. So, if you are lying in bed and want to just glance at your wrist to see what time it is, this watch can't provide that. It's a 2-handed watch in the dark...period.3) Despite what all of the marketing material all over the internet says about this watch, the bezel does not rotate. In fact, it has 4 bolts going through it and into the case, so without a significant redesign that bezel will never be useful for anything other than decoration.4) There are no markers on the bezel at the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock positions, which incidentally is also where the 4 bolts mentioned above are located. There should at least be a white ring, dot, line or some other marker on/through/around the bolt head to make it easier to read where the hands are when pointing to those locations.I am very particular about the style and function of any watch I wear, and thought I'd finally found the perfect one after an extensive internet search. This one is sooooo close, but just can't pull it off. It has all the usual digital watch features (chrono, alarm, timer etc.) and the digits on that display are a nice size, but even they rely on good lighting to be visible. As you tilt the watch to one side or the other, the digital display exhibits very large swings in visibility. Timex makes a somewhat similar watch that has excellent contrast between the digital display and the background, but that watch is well over $200 and is out of the price range of what I'd pay for a watch.I already threw out all of the packaging for this model or else I'd consider sending it back and continuing my search for something else. It seems very solidly built and is surprisingly quite heavy. I'm sure it would last a very long time and provide excellent service, but it's just not user friendly. A few very minor tweaks to the design would make this the absolute perfect watch. If Timex were to do that, I'd consider giving someone else this one and buying the revised model instead.

Solidly built, heavy and large. Overall, nice watch.
I've had several Ironman watches over the years. This one is by far different that most. Its very heavy - surprisingly so -- and very large. Definitely very masculine looking. The digital/analog face is easy to read. My only gripe is that the bezel doesn't rotate like on a diving-style watch -- its for aesthetic purposes only. While this seems like a minor complaint, I use the rotating bezel feature a lot on other watches I own when counting down a quick 10 or 15 minutes ("OK kids -- you have 10 minutes left to play on the Xbox." -- you get the point). Overall very pleased. Last note - if you're looking for this to be your "exercise/running" watch, it may be too heavy for that. I'd guess it weighs 3x the normal digital-only Ironman watches.

Used watch did not note poor condtion of watch band and face.
The watch appears to be a good quality. The item was used as expected. The watch is missing the band loop and the face is scratched. The watch was not posted as having these problems.

functional as well as classy
It's hard to find a watch that does a great job with chrono and has an analog dial. I actually have used both at once, checking the time with the digital part running. The watch has weight, but coming from a titanium watch with ti band I think it feels just fine. it is rugged and I do like the resin band so I can wash it off from sweat and not care about leather or nylon getting stinky. It looks sharp and I use it for work as well. having a hard time deciding which watch to wear. especially with the date easily accessible. these watches are hard to find and after I bought this on line it was no longer available for purchase. Likely is now, but short supply it seems. I also wanted to spend only about 40 for a workout watch, but the extra I paid here is worth it. Great purchase.

Not the best Iron Man I've owned
I've had several versions of Timex iron man wrist wathces and this one is by far the heaviest and bulkiest to wear. The functions on it don't behave like other iron man's I've had which is too bad as I liked those ones better.

Great sports watch.
I have used this watch daily for about a year. I really like it as an informal everyday watch. A bit on the big side. When you turn off the display, looks a bit more formal (I can wear it to the office no problem). Have ran triathlons with it, timed over 20 laps in the pool, and used the two time zones and alarms when traveling. It has all the basic functions, is sturdy and works well. Unless you want to add a pace counter or a GPS (which this watch do not have, but it doesn't bother me as I use those functions from my cell phone), this is a great watch and I would buy it again.

Still love the Timex Dual Display range
I've had various models of the Timex dual display range. This model is slightly dated now in that it has been around for a good 10 years, however the only limitation is that the countdown timer can only go up to 99 minutes 59 seconds. This is a shame as I often use the countdown timer for flights as I find it hard to track how much of the flight is left when trying to factor in time-zone changes and not always remembering exactly when we took off. This is a heavy watch, but I actually like that. The black bezel and styling give the watch a slightly military feel, but classy too (at least in my opinion). With other dual display watches, the digital display is often too small, but this one, as with all the Timex dual display range, has good sized digits and is very easy to read. The backlight could be a little brighter but it's basically fine. The T5K399SU version which I previously had is definitely better in respect of the backlight and the digital display is even easier to read, however I much prefer the styling of the model on this page. The only downside to this and all of the Ironman Dual Display range is the resin strap; I have owned 4 of these, maybe 5 (various versions) and the resin strap always gives up first after about 18months - 2 years. That aside, after 10 years, I have still not found a better watch of this dual display variety so I return time and again to the Timex range.

good value
I've just had this watch for a couple of weeks but I am quite happy with it. It's got a fairly robust, masculine design and with a stainless steel body it has a substantial heft. I like the fact that I can leave it on analogue only during normal use and turn on the digital display for night use, since the illumination really only aids in reading the digital display. I have a similar Timex and the band cracked and broke somewhat prematurely. If the same happens to this one I'll likely have to send it to Timex for band replacement since the correct band will prove difficult to find.
