Motion Detection and notification
Pros:1. Screw right into the porch light socket, no need to hire an electrician for wires, holes and then drywall and stucco fix headache. This is the main driver for the purchase decision.2. Motion detection and video record/alarm on motion is working in day time.3. Motion detection does not work at night. At night it is good for scheduled on/off light.Cons:1. Email setting is not working for me. I tried every combination from google help, e.g., smtp.gmail.com, port 465, security SSL, so on.2. WiFi setup requires several attempts.3. Motion detection setting needs to be on high. Motion detection may go back to low setting after video/other setting change, which makes it useless. I hope this can be changed as a default in factory setting.4. Setting change is done both at local and internet (aka after login in ) option. Not sure which one takes effect as they need to sync with each other.5. Motion detection does not work at night.6. Motion detection can have lots of false alarm. Still need to investigate its cause, e.g., moving objects like plants swaying in the wind. Thus one should have a mechanism on how much of a change in video should trigger alarm, e.g., 5%, 10%, etc.7. Clear instruction for models for better purchase decision. I would have bought the 883 version for additional IR capability, had I seen the website comparison table earlier.. http://www.bulbcam.net/download.html8. There is no light trim kit available on Amazon ( for 6 inch can) with clear glass/plastic cover so it cannot be used outdoor. All clear glass one has certain pattern, which makes the camera useless.

I wish this worked but the implementation made workability impossible.
This device does not work as promised. Here is what you really get.1) The device does not come with a remote. If you talk to the company they tell you that you can just hook it up to the smart phone and run it that way, but that is false as I will explain. It is not clear if there is a max size for the SD card either, I used a 32gb card but it showed 24 gb used at 13gb available. What? Why? I searched everywhere for the max size to use.2) When you screw this bulb in the first thing you notice is just how much it doesn't look right. An easy application of one way mirror glass might fix this, but whether lit or not it's not quite like any other bulb.3) After you screw it in it takes a good amount of time for it to come up. I am not sure why but what I do know is that the bulb clicks a lot and the light comes on and goes of.4) then you hook it up, the app on your phone is confusing. It first asks you to log in, but this is pointless since you would be loggin in via a connection and you have to connect to the bulbs WAN with its own SSID. This is actually cool if not for the following problem.5) When you set the camera up, choose the settings and whether the light is on or off and start recording it stops recording as soon as you disconnect from the bulb. Which literally makes this the stupidest product I've ever seen.If it had the remote that was promised possibly I could make it work, but I wouldn't know if it worked since there seems to be no indicator light.I'd be happy for someone from the company to prove me wrong, but after a month of working on it, I'm certain it just doesn't work right.
