Awesome for long and short hair cats
This is perfect! My cats have hated every other kind of brush or glove that I've tried. Usually just have to use a plain human comb. When I got this I left it near their scratching post so they could smell it & check it out for a couple of days. Then I just slowly started using it on my short hair cat and it was AMAZING!! The hair just keeps coming with no need to tug or pull hard at all. I didn't even know he had so much hair. I've never seen anything work so well. Tried it out on the long hair and it went through her hair easily. Love this! If you have an outdoor animal, you might want to do this outside because there is tons of hair! Getting one for my daughter's cat and a spare for me.

Great for Shiba Inus!
I have tried no less that 10 different combs/brushes/rakes/fur handlers on my Shiba Inu and have been disappointed by all until now! This little rake is fantastic! It doesn't really brush her in a way that removes all the hair, but it loosens up the undercoat and makes it easier to wipe off and pluck out in clumps. It greatly reduces the time it takes for her to blow her coat, doesn't mess with her guard hairs (I'm looking at you Furminator), and redistributes natural oils throughout. A major bonus is she will put up with this for much longer than a normal brush. I'll be buying a back-up!

Finally a way to tame the undercoat on a double coated dog!
My Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix has a double coat that sheds like crazy but his undercoat was starting to just collect instead of come out. The Furminator couldn't get down to the undercoat at all and a slicker brush just wasn't getting it all. I tried this rake after the suggestion from a friend who owns collies and it is working great to loosen up the hair underneath. Impressed! Comfortable handle. Cute paw print design. If you have a double coated dog, you want this!Pro tip: This is an outdoor activity. The hair REALLY flies sometimes but it's super effective!

Gets down to that undercoat. A Winner.
I love this lil tool. My Newfies love it and it gets down thru their undercoat. I had my doubts about this tool because of the low price but I just am so happy I got it.Only issue I had was that one of the end teeth popped out. Just 1, not worth the trouble to return. This tool will always be in our grooming bag.

Even works on a Golden/Lab mix's coats!!!
I bought the Pixikko Rake to address a very serious coat issue for my dog, Abby. Abby is a Golden Retriever/Labrador mix and she can shed! Both Coats!! At the same time usually!! This year was especially brutal. Abby has never liked the deshedder type rakes, they seem to pull on her long coat too much and the metal bristle brush, while they work great, the wires bother her skin. So I went on the hunt for a undercoat rake that would be easy on her skin, and not pull to much on her long outer coat and yet still get the hair especially when she is in full blown "Blow Out" of her coat.As someone has already suggested, do this OUTSIDE!! Especially for a Golden/Lab mix! Each stroke brings a little more relief for both of us but the fur does come out in handfuls! Abby seems to enjoy the use of this rake more than she ever has any other rake or brush I've tried, and believe me!! I've tried a bunch! The metal tines on this are blunted so they don't scratch her skin and the double line of short/long tines are spaced well enough apart that I believe this would work well even on a thicker coated dog, such as an Akita or Husky.I did not receive any discounts for this review, this is my unbiased and honest review. I would highly recommend this product and will purchase another should this one ever become lost or worn out (although I think Abby's coat will wear out before this does!!)

Not a good choice for me
Cat doesn’t like it. I’ve resorted to sharing my Tangle Teezer with him. lol

Good buy.
Don't say it's for cats if it's not! Great for small long haired dog. However...talons are quite sharp for any animal. Did't live but as described!

Not just for undercoats: massages & gently removes tons of hair/fur
We have three large, indoor, long-haired cats with heavy undercoats: this rake gets more loose hair/fur off them than any other grooming product we've ever tried. I find it picks up guard hairs just as easily as undercoat fur and does a great job at loosening both. Typically I groom the cats daily holding the rake in one hand followed by a slicker brush held in the other as the rake brings up so much loose hair/fur that it alone can't pick it all up. If you don't like slicker brushes, at least follow the rake with your hand because there's a lot of hair/fur loosened by this rake! We've used furminators for grooming in the past but those seem uncomfortable for the cats, also furminators seem to cut rather than just removing loose/dead follicles and don't really provide any massage. This rake, held gently, massages without irritating their tender skin which promotes healthy coat turnover. Our cats' coats are noticeably shinier and we're seeing far fewer undercoat mats; the rake-slicker brush combo has also helped reduce hairballs to almost none - hallelujah!Very pleased with this product and highly recommend!
