Ordered and received within 2 days last week (week before labor day), I was happy to take it camping with us for our son. My son (8 years old) absolutely had a blast playing with out while camping. The 4WD really works and is huge boost for the little unit to climb up hills. Even I had fun going up dirt slopes greater than 45 degrees and up to 70 degrees by turning the tires right/left to help cut through the climb. The biggest bonus was the extra batter and that it charged via USB.PROS-2 batteries, you can use one while charging the other-Charger is USB...this is ideal for camping as I am able to charge off of 12volt RV power-True 4WD with soft grip tires helps climb just about anything.-Built pretty solid for the price.CONS-Run time is as advertised of 45 minutes. It is true to advertising, just hoped it lasted longer.-Speed was decent, just personally would have liked to see it go quicker on the roads.Overall, its is a great unit for the price and great for younger children.

With obstacles everywhere, small stumps, holes dug by the dog, mounds of dirt around the holes and dirt ramps, it makes a challenging driving course. At times i tie a tennis ball to the back of the car and let my 2 chihuahuas to chase after the ball. The SHARKOOL remote controlled 4×4 car is nice, stable and durable. The controller is ergonomically designed for comfort, the controls movement is smooth. The rc car is nice and fast. It responds quickly to the remote allowing it to go in any direction i want it to go to. The knobby tires tear up the dirt, grabbing the ground it allows the car climb up the mounds and the stumps, drive through the holes, jump the ramps and take the sharp corners wehen it turns.. the shock absorbs are sturdy and allows the car to land with out breaking frame. The independent suspension lets each tire take the landscape individally and also helps keep the car from rolling over when driving over dips and when going around corners. There are two independent motors, one in the front snd one in the rear pushing through the obstacle course and launching off the ramps. The car sits up high for an rc car letting it ride over small rocks and debris. The steering is responsive to the contoller and is adjustable so that if the steering goes out of alignment on the bottom is a switch which allows the steering to be put straight agoin. The controller takes 3 AA batteries and the car comes with 2 rechargeable 4.8 volt batteries so that when 1 dies i can switch it out with the charged battery and recharge the spent battery.

I was impressed on the speed and how quickly my son was able to pick up on it. Love the fact that it comes with two sets of batteries and rubber tires instead of plastic. This is great so my son can spend a lot of time outside. The car is pretty durable, we have made a few ramps for it and it can take some good hits. Definitely made a great choice on this.

The car came with two rechargeable batteries so that there is a backup one when one is in use. When we used it the first time, we forgot to turn off the car after done and the battery was depleted the next morning, so please turn it off when done playing if you don’t want to be surprised by an empty battery. The battery seems last long, each charge lasted for several days, but we didn’t run the car for very long each day, so it is hard to tell how long it actually lasts.The car is like a SUV and runs well even on rough roads. We tested on regular road, on our lawn, and on the playground, all without any problem.The only thing we think the car can be improved is the designing of the remote controller. The current controller works sharply, but it is a little difficult for our toddler to master it. She knows how to make the car go forward, but took some time to make the car go backward and is still learning how to make the car turn to different directions. It may be easier for small kids to use if the controller was designed like game controllers.Overall, this is a nice toy and both adults and kids enjoy it.

We got this car for our son's 5th birthday. It's perfect for his age. The truck is a little slow but fast enough to keep him entertained. To be honest he might find it difficult to control if it went too much faster. He's able to drive it over grass, dirt, rocks, and even up and down the curb without any trouble. Our 7 year old daughter and 10 year old son also love playing around with it.Right now I'm giving 4 starts for 2 reasons. First, as our son has crashed and flipped the truck a few times, little cosmetic pieces have been falling off...the spare tire, one of the fake KC lights, etc. It doesn't seem to bother him at all and nothing that has come off has impacted the performance, but it has been breaking. Second, the batteries are a little difficult to change. It involves unscrewing the battery compartment and replacing rechargeable batteries using a cable connection that is very small and hard to work with big, adult hands. Traditional rechargeable AA batteries or an internal, USB-charged battery would be preferable.Overall a great buy!
