Works great
Have had some pretty good rains here in Texas. Does the job for me. All depends on how much rain you get. I bought something similar to this 25 years ago and it was pretty cool. This is the same. I’d recommend

buy something else.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:broke down in sunlight in a year, turned to dust.

Just not good enough
The media could not be loaded. Although it works it couldn’t handle a large downpour. It did roll back up when rain let up but again will not work for a lot of water coming down. As you can see water pouring out the back of it in the video.

Its great for HOME, but not for the industrial spouts.
Our spouts are very large and I did get it on eventually. It only went up about an inch on the down spout gutter. The self adhesive is already coming off - Yes everything was cleaned and dried. Since we are trying it and will use until a permanent fix is done. I compare the ones I have here and at home - If this was for my home - It would not have any issues and probably would not even use the self adhesive self stick sponge.I am hoping it works until a permanent fix is done, I am over always sweeping after rain the rocks and mulch that ends up going on the entire walkway.Like I stated earlier - It would work great at my home, not too sure here at work. Thanks againT

Attaches securely to spout
I like this particular drain because once it extends and releases the water that came down the spout, it rolls back up to the end of the spout so it is not hanging out in the way for mowing. It slides on with some effort to fit tightly onto the spout and is also zip tied so it won't slide off. These must be popular because I was looking for one in a few local stores and they were sold out of these. I wasn't interested in any of the other type of extensions I saw so I was happy to be able to get this through Amazon.

It Does What I Needed
I can confirm the other commenters' suggestion that it takes a bit of water pressure for this to unroll as predicted but I don't know that it takes too much; the place I needed was for overflow from my cistern so it's in a place with especially slight pressure. Regardless, when it doesn't unroll it still holds the water rather than letting it out at the foundation and I can, at my ease and after the rain, unroll it and let the water drain where I want. And the design allows for quick and easy removal of detritus that gets inside.

Poor design: coil does not roll out with hydraulic pressure
I bought 6 and installed one. After installation, to check the deisgn, I ran a stream of water from a garden hose in the gutter to mimic a rain storm. Not only did the coiled hose not roll out but the water in the down spout had such a hydraulic head that the water started to flow out of the clamp at the top of the boot where the design has a zip tie that wraps the top of the boot. The coil is so taught, it's tough to unroll by hand let alone the hydraulic pressure that's supposed to open the coil. I'm returning all 6 I bought. I wish I had taken a picture of the water flowing out the top of the boot.
