Motion Pro 08-0412 Fork Alignment Tool

I own a ton of Motion Pro items and I am rarely disappointed. Motion Pro stuff is good quality and always innovative. It is clear that they know bikes and have thought about how to make the fundamentals convenient. With this tool fork alignment moves from a protracted snake oil guessing game to quick and simple science. It takes all of 30 seconds for one person to confirm proper fork tube alignment using this tool compared to stroking the forks and hoping for the best. Like most Motion Oro tools, highly recommended.

I used it on my streetbike after a slow-speed crash. The forks didn't seem to be bent, but the bar was definitely not even between my hands. Between the triple tree clamps on my bike, there is not even a foot of space to use this tool, but I set the tool at the top and slid it down toward the bottom and the forks were definitely no longer parallel. Did a home-alignment and rechecked it with this tool after the very first attempt and sure enough this tool confirmed that the alignment worked even before I took it out on a ride to confirm. I don't think the alignment is absolutely perfect, but it is so much better than riding the bike without it. The tool, for me at least with my minimal experience working on motorcycles, didn't do much but confirm that my attempt at aligning the forks was successful rather than making things worse.

MotionPro ForkTru alignment toolI first read a review of the Fork Tru tool in Motorcycle Consumer News and was intrigued. I tested it out on my Ducati Monster 696. Note that on street motorcycles, you will need to remove the wheel in order to read the lower part of the fork tubes.It is easy to set up and relies on the machined parts of the tool to align the middle part of the fork (near the lower fork clamp) with the lower part of the fork. I found that my forks were only slightly misaligned from the factory, and that the adhesive reflectors were getting in the way.It may or may not work for all motorcycles due to various configurations, but it takes a lot of the guesswork out of the equation. The build quality is top notch and it is very simple to use.Overall: 4/5 stars, the parts that touch the fork tubes could be made smaller to avoid interference with parts on the bike.

Seriously, if you ride you need this tool. I have a brand new 2016 Beta 350RR and I just installed my favorite tires and used the method of aligning the forks that I've been using forever, checked it with this new tool and was shocked to find the forks were off. If your forks aren't perfectly parallel you can have binding, reduced suspension performance and accelerated seal and bushing wear. So glad I got this. I also checked another bike we have and found it's forks to be off also. Buy it!

Using it for a couple of dirt bikes that have a tendency to end up crashing. Simple to use -- loosen some bolts, align top and bottom of the fork, and tighten things back up.

Very good fork alignment tool - quite useful and meets the quality expected from Motion Pro. Well worth the money.

I literally love everything Motion Pro does, they're a bunch of thinkers who have clearly struggled not being able to do things on their dirt bikes making necessity the mother of all inventions for them. If I had the budget I would by EVERYTHING they make!!
