Steal It If You Can

The beginning promises a great movie & then suddenly dips into dreadful & awful. If you can last through the depressing part where a man loses not only self respect but the respect of his family (who actually start to admire the guy burglarizing them!) then you will see how the great lengths to which the father goes to in order to protect his family actually brings the family together in a beautiful way.By the end you are secretly cheering on the inept father who gives everything for his family. Great fun ending is unexpected and just right

A disrespected father fights a bored burglar. "Home Alone," supposedly for adults, but I agree with other reviewers here that the fun is all in the set-up, while the execution is awful, with unbearably slow takes and tons of filler scenes that add nothing to the mêlée or the mélange. It tries to create a subtext of the societal battle between the nouveau riche and establishment money, but quite inexplicably drops the ball completely-- I'm guessing the shoot started with an incomplete script!

It has a few funny moments, but the husband's imbecility gets tiring very quickly. It felt a lot like something out of Hollywood rather than a Korean movie; the children do not respect their parents, the parents have little respect for each other and their relationship is teetering on collapse, the father has to do something dramatic to prove himself to his children before they can respect him.

Quirky, little action/comedy flick. A father who is not respected by his family in a luxury home, in a middle of nowhere, tries to find his backbone trying to protect his home from a bored super burglar.

Maybe the great Korean films I've been seeing lately were good because they were action movies, not comedies. This one just doesn't work on any level. It's not funny. The guy you should root for isn't someone you can like. The bad guy has no motivation for what he does, or explanation for why he does those things. It's all very strange, no point, no plot, no redeeming qualities.
