BPA (bisphenol-A) is a chemical added to many commercial products, first discovered in the 1890s. Chemists realized it could be used to produce resilient polycarbonate plastics. These days, BPA-containing plastics are commonly used in food containers, baby bottles. ✅ IS BPA BAD FOR YOU? BPA is said to mimic the structure and function of the hormone estrogen. BPA thus can bind to estrogen receptors and influence growth, cell repair, fetal development, energy levels and reproduction. BPA may also be linked to health issues: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Premature delivery, Asthma... ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is harmless in that it doesn't have any known carcinogens, and there are no known adverse health effects related to exposure to ABS. TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer) or any plastic material used in a product that comes into contact with food must have food-contact approval. Food-contact approved TPEs is safe to be used to make soft baby spoons or toddler cup spouts.

Bought as a gift for a friend who gets frustrated that most bars/pubs don't give straws out anymore - safe to say she loves her new reusable one and I'm happy she's no longer using extra plastic! Would recommend :)
