I'm in Houston, and "planted" the Grotrax in late February. I can't say I did the best job of preparing the area (laid it on top if some patchy grass) and didn't water it as well as was recommended (but weather has been cool and damp). After two weeks, I have green grass almost 2" tall. Not all that thick yet but is growing more dense each day. Compared to the larger area where I spread seed, this section looks amazing.

Purchased several rolls of this product to finish a project at the entrance to our driveway. Product arrived quickly and had shrink wrap around each roll. It was easy to install with landscaping spikes. We purchased the 2x50ft rolls and it actually went about as far as he description said. It can be deceiving trying to figure out what you need when the ground is sloped like ours is in a ditch. The material is delicate and tears easily. Do not recommend walking on it once installed until grass has begun to grow.

They need spikes or something to help keep them down, the first breeze that came through took them all to the neighbors yard. Also they were very thin and I had to be careful while watering them or they ripped. I bought 3 large bags of contractors grass seed for the same price and covered my yard several times then just raked it into the dirt. I guess if you had spikes and only needed it for small patches it could work better but I needed it for a large area and it just failed miserably

Update: 9 April! Grass is growing everywhere! We are very pleased and can’t wait to order more rolls. Excellent product 👍Too early to tell! We just put it down on we’ll prepared ground with top soil and have been keeping it moist for the past 4 days. Once it starts growing, I will be back with an update.Update 15 June 2019:We watered every day and the nice green grass started dying. Now it’s completely dead and looks burned.

I like in the hot sometimes unforgiving South. So far so good. A lot of water, hard work in seeing the surface is as clear as possible and new good dirt- and a boost of Miracle Gro we are seeing nice full grass. It's not just roll it out and good luck. So with anything this is a good product and with following directions you will have a nice patch of lawn in a months' time

Update May 2019: While it is a good Concept, and the Grass does grow. I would not recommend it for Windy Areas. Guess I got lucky with the first Roll I ordered, that the Weather was calm... Bought two more Rolls and it started to germinate, but we have high Winds today and even with Stakes to hold it down, everything blew away! I made sure it stays wet, as this supposed to help keep it down, but this time it does not work. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD POST A WARNING IN REGARDS OF HIGH WIND AREAS: We live in the NM Desert. I tried to grow Gras for 2 Years, which worked to some extent, but seeds would be carried away and eaten by Birds...and with the Strong winds we get, watering adequately is often a Challenge. We have mostly sandy Soil without many Nutrients. Put down some Compost and tilled it under to prep the Ground. Bought the Bermudagrass Roll and am pleasantly surprised. Today is Day 10, and I have Grass growing. Still thin but it grows, and Birds and Ants don't have a Chance. Shoots are about 1 Inch Tall now. I used Biodegradable Landscaping stakes to hold it in Place and watered twice a Day. Re-Ordered two more Rolls and hope I finally get some green Grass in my sandy, desolate Backyard

Second pics grows in 10days. I thought it wont work. I already told to myself to buy sod if it wont grow in 10days..Update: after 5weeks some seed didnt grow, no sprout. I guess i need to patch

I used this product to regrow grass in 2 small areas in back yard. Easy to roll out and cut to size. I've been watering a couple times daily for a little over week. No grass yet. I had workers who came in bavkyard and stepped on it when it was wet...what a mess! Tears like wet paper! I tried to salvage what I could and hoping for the best!Update....I have grass growing! Looking good! I think it took 2 weeks.
