Big harness for the big cat
Marlowe outgrew his previous harness. At 17 lb. of solid cat, he needs a large harness. I have found this H style to be the most functional cat harness. I searched long and hard, and this was the only H style cat harness I could find that claimed to be larger than what he had outgrown. While I found larger sizes from other manufacturers two years ago, they all seem to have discontinued their super size cat harnesses. This arrived quickly even though shipped from Ireland. The chest band measures a full 22" long when the strap is extended to its maximum -- about 4" more than the harness Marlowe outgrew and the largest other harnesses I could find. The hardware on this harness is as sturdy as what is found on all readily available harnesses. The straps measure 1/2" wide. The width of other cat harness straps is 3/8", so this looks much wider, but not inappropriate for a cat sized for this harness. The straps are welded rather than sewn to the hardware. I would consider that to be inferior. If a weld breaks I will plan to sew it. Despite this, I give it five stars because as the only available harness for such a large cat there seems to be nothing better.

Good fit for a big kitty
This fit my large kitty perfectly! She is 17.2lbs and doesn't fit in a regular sized harness.

the best harness ever
I love this brand cat harnesses and after trying multiple different ones I again came back to this brand. My cat hated all the other ones from the start but this one he actually plays and walks around in it. Takes time to get used to a harness but i am now certain it is doable with these ones.My family has trained now 5-7 cats to walk in harnesses outside and these are the only brand we suggest to anyone and the only one we use! Start loose and work from there to tight fit to go outside.

Excellent harness for large breed cat, Savannah or Maine Coon cats
Exactly what I was looking for. Very large harness for a large cat. Adjusts to be very large, or tighten it up. Comes with a leash. I feel like my kitty is very secure wearing this harness.

Secure but care needed
I got it a few years ago t walk my cat at the local green area. It is very good and my cat is comfortable in it. He tried to fight it initially but since then he settled and have been doing great. We had countless of walks without any problems apart: A WORD OF WARNING! that it can be dangerous if you try to pull the lead while standing behind him and he resits it or if something makes him to panic and he starts pulling away in that direction as the strip of the harness around his neck can choke him and can even cause harm. A couple of times he started struggling to breath and coughing. Since then , for this reason I always try to tag the lead by standing on his side, so that it pulls the harness around his chest and not on his neck. I also have a leash that is 8 meters long so that if he charges and starts running cause something spooked him or he saw a squirrel, I can release the leash and catch up with him without having to tag it hard and cause him any injury. Even if I let the leash loose it is so heavy he will stop running eventually. For this reason I just ordered a harness for cats made by a company that specializes on cats in USA which is fit around the body and not the neck as cats have very fragile necks.

if you're cat is pretty chilled it's okay but if your cat has a ...
My cat can escape if he backs up away pulling on the leash he can walk his way out of the harness. He did this on the stairs when he didn't want to go outside and he nearly did it outside when he got frightened by a man coming out of a van so I had to grab him real quick before he slipped the harness and potentially ran away and got lost. It's okay you just need to exercise caution and keep your cat under control, if you're cat is pretty chilled it's okay but if your cat has a fight or flight response or Ian startled they can pull away backwards and wriggle free from the harness.

Pulls on the fragile neck of the cat - not suitable
This was the right size for my cat (I ordered a large for the following neck/chest measurements: 26/40cm), and the material is really strong. It feel like great quality. I couldn't chose the colour and I received a blue harness+leash. My cat had the expected 'pancake'/freeze reaction to me putting on the harness for the first time ever. After several days of trying to get him used to the harness only for a few hours around the house (+ treats and play and pets) he still wasn't comfortable in it. I eventually tried to take him into the garden and he inevitably tried to get to a corner that was out of reach. I absolutely hated that the gentle pull I had to use to nudge him out was essentially strangling him. He became terrified and growled and hissed. The pressure was distributed all wrong. This was a highly stressful experience for both me and my cat, who thankfully got over it quickly once I took him back in the house, took the harness off, and fed him and played. I don't think this harness is appropriate for cats as it's quite dangerous and could harm the cat in a moment of panic. I'm going to return it.

Great fit, easy to put on
I have a 13y/o Ragdoll (rescue) who's never been outside, I got him a step in jacket-like harness to begin with as I needed to make sure he was secure until we figured out what he acts like once outside. That was difficult for him to get used to and he'd often not go outside as he felt constricted in it, so the Trixie harness is great, not only does he not have to step into anything he doesn't mind having it on and will sit still while i attach both parts (unless i take too long). As he isn't part of getting the harness on he now gets to decide at the external door if he wants to go outside, rather than at the difficult harness on stage. It's really easy to get on and off and there is plenty of adjustment left even on a large Ragdoll (6kg). It's very secure and the clasps aren't the breakaway type you see on collars. It's well made and good quality, would definately buy again.

Great for the training of large cats
We bought this harness to walk our cat around the new garden after moving house (btw strongly recommend to keep cat indoors for at least 2 weeks in the new house and then let them out gradually with the harness). The harness came in green for us, very sturdy material and easy to adjust. We have a big cat, the harness bought from Pets at Home was wayy to small! Resorted to this one and cannot fault it.Cat was able to have a sniff around, even climb on top of fences. He is now happy and free to go, thank you Trixie! :o)
