ACDelco GM Original Equipment 93440806 Ignition Distributor

Worked fine! From GM's website- Timing Should be Set @ 32° Total @ 3,000 RPM With Vacuum Advance Disconnected. 10° initial timing at idle should provide this total.Immediate improvement over old HEI unit with worn out advance.The cap and rotor are high quality and if you just bought them are more than 1/3 the price of the whole unit.My motor seems to run better at about 7 degrees initial timing but they are all different and who knows how accurate the cheap harbor freight timing light I am using is as well as the accuracy of the line on the balancer and the old indicator tab are.

Really only bought this because I wasn't sure how old the unit in my truck is, I suspected a weak coil, and the advance weight pins were worn. Truck runs much better with the all new parts and it's an exact replacement for the factory part. Although it might be made overseas, it seems to be a quality piece for the price.

Awesome AC Delco product. Dropped right in and works great. Huge quality improvement over my existing Chinese off brand junk.The distributor came packaged very well, had clear instructions, and and a grease to drop in. It looks great!

- As received there was .072 end play in the shaft. Research reveals recommended use of a shim kit to tighten the clearances to where they should be to maintain accurate timing. The kit is Moroso 26140.- I shimmed .040 under the reluctor to insure no binding at the oil pump when things get hot. The .040 vertically aligns the reluctor teeth perfectly. I shimmed another .010 at the gear for a net clearance of .022 as recommended by pro builder.+ The cap has brass terminals.+ The Melonized gear is a big plus, compatible with all cams including roller cams.- I noticed that the ignition module had no identifications on it like the OEM Delco module I have in the box which is stamped "GM" on top. Hope it its of good quality.+ I noticed squeeze-out from under the ignition module of a correct looking thermal paste in lieu of runny dielectric many use by mistake. (Dielectric is an insulator- Not as good for heat transfer)+ Upon installation the vacuum advance and centrifugal advance work smoothly. I may change weight springs to dial in total advance when everything is broken in more.++ All-in-all. This is a nice distributor for a couple hundred bucks and perfect for performance street cruising. One of the better deals out there.

I had a continuous problem in which the distributor would destroy modules. This was a 15 year problem, Many cheap China distributors and modules were constantly failing. May 2020 I decided to purchase an AC Delco OEM distributor. Well one year later, my 1977 C10 pickup is running great. Be smart and purchase an AC Delco OEM.UPDATE: It has been 2 Years and 4 months since initial install. 3 hot summers. AC Delco OEM distributor works perfectly.

This is one of the best HEI distributors you can buy. It has the melonized gear too if your wondering. Recommended

This ACDelco 93440806 GM distributor arrived well packaged. It looks and performs like the original. No problem installing as it is a complete assembly. Made sure I was TDC and removed the old and installed the new. Started on first crank. Adjusted timing and all is good.

The first one showed up with a cracked distributor cap... engine would hardly run. Checked under cap and found small stress fractures. Returned, got replacement, and not only was the cap on it cracked in the same place on the underside, the damn ROTOR BUTTON WAS MISSING!!! NEVER AGAIN AMAZON!!!!
