Greatest Hits Import

I bought this vinyl double album in the mid 80s; a really great set of tracks that aren't all covered in subsequent "greatest hits" albums. Unfortunately I gave this vinyl album away to a charity shop in the mid 90s when I lost my record player. Judging by the prices for it now, I should have held on to it! Better than fine wine? I missed this set so much that I have now bought the CD. Really glad I saw the Dan at the O2 this year - freakin' awesome! Would I buy a record player now...? Never say never... But I'm pretty sure that compact cassettes won't come back.Seriously, this collection, has the main tracks, in the right order. Its a great introduction for anyone who wants to hear more than just "Reelin in the Years". I have a couple of other SD compilations and the 4 CD boxed set, but if you only had one Dan album, this would be the one to get.

This old vinyl album is exactly what I wanted to offer as a present to my son's girlfriend who has recently I'm reliably informed discovered Fagan and Becker's music and did not really know where to begin her journey through the Dan's early years and which album to listen to and purchase. This should work a treat!

'the dan'. what a 'let's get to it' collection of the hits and even a 'the royal scam' out-take, 'here at the western world', making this great value double album on one CD, a must own for the house and car! superbly wise purchase. now have the smarts to make it!

Great starting point for anyone wanting to find out about the Steely Dan's music.
