Bartenders bible
I really think this tray stands out from the rest. A buddy of mine who runs a bar in Japan was so impressed he requested a couple after seeing mine here at home. For people who have a problem with the smell of silicone and soft porous materials let me tell you that I've had no problems with this particular tray. What sets this one apart from the typical tovolo, or soft silicone tray, is that the interior and slots are made with a less porous and slick finish, which is also very firm to the touch, which makes cleaning less of hassle if you're using it for sauces, or oily substances. Things that will cause you problems are instances where you don't wash your trays before and after each use. Use vinegar, baking soda, dish soap, but most importantly, please cover your trays with plastic wrap. This is necessary for all types of trays, regardless if your freezer is cleaned, there is such a thing a freezer burn tastes and odors. SECONDLY - Filter your tap water, I use fresh boiled water for my ice cubes, tip is if you use 195 degree temperature water your cubes will almost be completely clear.

Still melt in your drinks
I live in a tropical climate. It is hot. The reverse osmosis system does not work properly, so no refrigerator ice maker ice. I have trays from Container Store that are covered that I like a lot (don't pick up odors), but my friends had been discussing the big Japanese silicon ice ball molds. I drink iced coffee every morning, where the coffee and milk are already cold. When I (rarely) drink a diet soda, it is generally warm. I like that this makes 6 cubes. They are easy to get out of the mold. It sounds like scotch drinkers like them because they keep the scotch cold without melting. Mine melt, but still very convenient to put in one large cube rather than many smaller ones. The tray itself is a little bigger than half of a usual sized ice cube tray. It seems easier to use than the round ones. You just have to make sure it is level so it does not drip water into your freezer.

Best of the Big Cube trays
I love thise! I fill them with with fresh squeezed juice for drinks. I bought my son a set of the large and regular size after struggling with his plastic ice cube trays. The contents of whatever liquid is in these trays pops right out with a press of the tumb to the bottom. If you have to drain canned fruit for a recipe, instead of tossing the juice down the drain, pour it in the big cube tray. If you can't fill the entire tray, you can fill the empty spaces later. Canned tomato juice makes a great Bloody Mary martini, although the cube is not rock solid as there are bits of tomato or seeds unless you strain it. All fruit juices go pretty well with vodka and/or soda water, which is what I used when someone stopped by unexpectedly with young children. They thought it was cool to see a red ice cube (blueberry acai).I have an ice maker which performs well, but these are MUST HAVE accessories for multiple uses. I am now thinking plastic spiders in ice cubes for Halloween.

So little effort, BIG reward!
This GIANT Ice cube tray is perfect for my whisky cocktails and i am VERY happy to have it to be able to serve my drinks in style, all the while keeping thedrinks perfectly chilled andcold! The cubes come outquite easily and with verylittle fuss. As soon as myfirst batch froze (roughly 5hrs in deep freeze), I pouredmy husband and myself abourbon with two of the icecubes. Fantastic! I believewater (ice) "opens up" thenose of a quality bourbonand enhances the taste ofthe alcohol. Long after wefinished our drink(s) about2hrs or so later (haha!) thecubes were barely melted! Our drinks still tasted greatand were not diluted withtoo much water frommelting ice...nothing worsethan good bourbon/whiskey diluted toweakness with too much water. This tray isIncredible! I am placing anorder for another ice tray as i write. This is a good investment and anessential *tool* to have in awell stocked home bar. Love it!

Cute Novelty with Bogus Claims
When it showed up, I was very surprised at how tiny it is (half the size of a normal ice cube tray). Why on earth wouldn't they make this thing twice as big - the size of a normal tray?? Nonetheless I excitedly filled it up, went to the web address for their "use report" and found a few novelty recipes that said they'd freeze in 3-4 hours. Our freezer is set at 0 degrees. 4 hours, not frozen. 6 hours, not frozen. 12 hours - finally the ice cubes are frozen. Now to use them: The first one seemed like it was gone in a heartbeat, so I timed the next one. 48 minutes (and that's with no refreshing of beverages - just letting it sit). Second one, 45 minutes. Normally I might even be a tad impressed, but their claim of 2+ hours is simply not true (unless maybe their caveat is to put it in the fridge or something unrealistic like that). The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the big cubes are novel and somewhat cool; not sure why they had to exaggerate about the longevity.

great ice-cube tray
This ice-cube tray is so easy to fill *and* to remove any ice-cubes from - not only all of them, but individually, too. The tray is bendable, but it is solid enough that when you fill it it, it holds it shape enough to get it from the sink to the fridge without spilling. The cubes are a large shape which is great for cocktail drinks (they don't melt quickly, preventing the drinks from being diluted with water), and there is no after-taste from the tray. The company is eager to provide helpful tips and recipes as well. Definitely a great step above and beyond the old plastic tray.

Good for whiskey
Whether bourbon or scotch, these guys take a while to melt. I like the volcanic rocks but a splash of water is nice so these provide both depending on how fast you enjoy your drinks. If you're a slow sipper, these (like most other ice) will melt and dilute your drink.Spend a little time figuring out how much of your spirits to put in based on your drinking speed and you'll be happy.
