The media could not be loaded. I was browsing around on the internet and found a video of someone with what looked like a nerf gun with which they were shooting table salt at flies. I HAD to have it. I did order it but it is still not here. Bundle - 2 Items: Bug-a-salt With Safety Goggles In the mean time I bought this little fly shooter on a whim, knowing it would get here fast with amazon prime, plus it was just over $5 so i figured even if it only worked a day then it was worth it. I got it:1. because as much as a hate to admit it... i have a mini fly infestation. I believe it was when we had that week of warm weather, everyone woke up and now it is too cold outside again so they are in my kitchen. it's disgusting.2. Because it is so much fun to shoot flies. I feel like I am sniping enemies without actually shooting a gun/wearing camo/ hiding in the dirt. it's awesome!I feel I have become pretty much an expert at "FLYSHOOTER the original BUG GUN" so here is the breakdown:when you get it it feels like a piece of cheap junk... but it isn't. or if it is then you can't tell. it kills flies, it doesn't break.it is basically a flat swatter with tube that you put over a spring and hook on the "gun" part and it is attached by a string. you load the swatter on the gun and when you pull the trigger it releases the swatter and you get a few feet of strong accurate swatting.cons:1.it is a pain to reload. not because it is hard, but because i don't want fly guts on my hands so i have to either hold the back part of the swatter to reload or put it on the ground to reload. it takes all of 1/2 a second, but when you narrowly miss a fly and want a quick follow up shot, that 1/2 second feels like eternity.2.the string that connects the swatter to the gun gets twisted so you have to let it untwist every so often. like you know how a yoyo string twirls around itself? ya that's what it does. again no biggie but thought it was worth mentioning3.you have to shoot the fly straight on. If you come in at an angle it pretty much always misses and you have to shoot them when they have landed. though I must say I shot a fly mid air and it was the coolest thing ever. it only worked because he was flying straight at me and was pretty close, but in general - wait till they land and shoot straight at them, not at an angle.pros:1.it kills flies2.it's awesome3.works faster is smaller and is less gross than fly swatters, fly paper and bug zappers.seriously even if you only have the occasional fly buzzing around- get this.in fact even if you don't have a fly buzzing around- get this. before I started mass murdering flies, I spent a good chunk of time shooting dried up flowers, my husbands butt, silverware off my table, and we even contemplated covering it with whipped cream and doing some "smack cam" videos. Now that it has fly guts on it we can't do that anymore but I am totally buying a second one strictly for "non fly" use.here is a video... I made it goofy on purpose for fun lol

So far, these things rock. My 3 and 5 year olds take their new job seriously. Cant beat designed and manufactured in the USA!

The fly shooter is a fun way of swatting flies and moths and many other insects and even though it looks like a toy, it has good swatting power. However, you must be lateral to the insect to aim at the insect. It takes some practice and I personally wouldn’t try it with a bee, just in case I missed it. It can’t be used on insects high on the wall or on the ceiling, It must be a level playing field.

Broke at trigger

I bought this to kill Spotted Lantern Flies (SLF) and it did the job! The SLF are extremely fast jumpers and hard to swat, so I bought this spring loaded shooter and it really did the job. Within 2 weeks I probably pulled the trigger about 150 times until the trigger broke off. I would have given the shooter 5 stars if it didn't break. I also wish the swatter end was a little bigger for those few times I was sloppy with my aim. So it's the right tool for the SLF, but the trigger needs to be stronger.

This thing works! The quality feels like its the best happy meal toy you would ever get in like the early 90s, which honestly is better than most 3d printed equivalents. The frame is thin and basic, but the projectile has some decent weight, and one hell of a spring to send it! This easily puts out as much force as a fly swatter, YET! It's not enough force to mark drywall, scuff windows, or even harm monitors! (ive tried it all so you dont have to) The string is helpful for returning the shot, but it limits the range to roughly 3 feet. That being said there is nothing stopping you from just not putting on the string and it and you can snipe a fly from like ~15 feet.Reply with your high-scores! mine is at 3 flies, but I use the string handicap

So I ordered this for my dad, who lives near cows in the country, and they get inundated by flies every summer. He's got a large fly swatter collection and lives to kill these invaders.Well, problem is once my 4 year old and I put it together and started playing with it we're totally keeping it for our house. It's fun. But more importantly, it's pretty damn effective.It's accurate. If you miss, that's on you. Up your game cuz my 4 year old is pretty good.It doesn't make bugs go splat, which is an awesome bonus. Not bug guts on the walls.It killed a wasp. YES! Kill those evil things.The simple mechanics of it leave little room for failure. Not much on it to break, and it's made of a single solid piece of plastic. It's not cheap or flimsy.The string makes it so when you strike theres no need to go searching for your ammo. Keep comfy with beer in hand and reload for your next kill.Plus you never run out, no need to refill, and no batteries to replace.I can reach higher and more awkward locations than with a traditional swatter. My 5'5" self can even kill them off my ceiling.No pain. Ok, this is more about me, I have an elbow injury with tendonitis and fast movements (like swatting) cause me lots of pain. I can kill mercilessly without risking my own health.Inexpensive. I actually set out to buy a salt gun but balked at the price. Plus the questionable idea of having salt scattered about my house.Did I mention it's fun? Just try to resist the urge to shoot your husband in the butt or you may get yelled at. Don't say I didn't warn you.Con: I need a holster! Walking through the house and I spot a fly I have to go search for where my son hid it from me. I should be able to carry it on my person at all times.I am not good enough to shoot them out of the sky, so they need to be landed on a hard surface. Unfortunately they bounce off my couch slightly dazed but very alive.Maybe if my dad is very nice to me I'll get him another one to replace the one I ungave to him.
