works
97 dodge ram did not do the best engineering on the head lamp system so this will work but ive found just leave the lights off as much as possible unless driving in the dark is the real answer. no relay causes them to over heat on long uses.

Update... check your fuses!
Updated review! Original text below ti show symptoms I was having... check your fuses first! #15 under the dash should have 15a fuse. I check mine and found some Club XJ BS! 10A fuse tied together with bailing wire! The headlight switch is fine. 🤡You can either have parking/tail lights or headlights not both at the same time unless you find that "sweet spot" in between settings when both contactors are closed at the same time. Otherwise you must choose between having headlights on, or dash/taillights. Good luck explaining to a cop why you were speeding when you couldn't read your speedometer and you had no taillights on going down the road.Very disappointing considering its a pain to install.

Replacement for old Chrysler OEM switch, BE CAREFUL ON THE INSTALL!
For my 95 Dodge Ram 2500. My headlights were flickering on and off while driving on the interstate, and it totally freaked me out. After a couple hours of Internet research and some YouTube videos, I thought maybe my headlight switch was to blame.Quickly pulled off my dash panel and got the screws off to pull the switch. After removing all the wiring, and carefully removing the screw-in sheath holding the handle, I had the old switch out. PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION WHEN YOU REMOVE THE WIRING! I didn't pay special attention, and did not notice that the smaller electrical connector was actually made up of two different contacts, oriented in a T shape. I went along my merry way attaching the wiring together and putting everything back together. I tested the headlights and dimmer, and it worked perfectly. But, when I went to test out the dome light by turning it to the left until it clicked, nothing. No dome lights.I repeated it several times. No dome lights. So, thinking the unit was defective, I ordered a replacement. Amazon dutifully shipped me a replacement unit. When I went in to replace the unit, I noticed that I had bent one of the two contacts on the smaller connector so that it wasn't seating inside the wiring harness. I bent it back into position, reinstalled everything, reconnected my negative battery cable....and VOILA! It worked perfectly, dome lights and all. Now I just need to ship the replacement back ;)It works perfectly and now no more flickering headlights on the interstate....and working dome lights too :)

Interior light now does not work
I installed this part to correct the blinking headlight light issue I was having. It did fix that problem but now my interior light does not work when I turn the knob. I noticed the plug to the interior light portion of the switch was bent, but I still managed to plug that on to the plug from my dash, but now I do not have interior light and the return period has expired
