Start A Cake Business Today Paperback – January 1, 2008

I was Impressed with this book. I am a cake decorator who is looking to start a home business. I felt as though this book gave me the pros and cons of doing so. This book also directs you to websites and resources in your state and area. It is any easy read the only con- is it has some typos here and there. I was really glad that I purchased this book it helped me to narrow down the name of my business and to figure out how to do contract write ups. Also, things to go over with your clients ahead of time. It also gives you recipes and tell you things you need to know and think about if you want to be more efficient with your time. I say go ahead and buy it it was worth the purchase .

Not what I thought it was going to be. It was OK, there was some useful information, but a lot of the information is very generic. I think the thing that through me off the most, was the quility of the paper they used to print the book on. It reminded me of recycled paper, giving me the feeling of a low end print house, and publisher. I kind of felt like it was being printed out of someones basement, for much cheaper than what they charged for this book. I think most of the information could be gathered on the internet, they just saved us the work. It did give a few useful tips. I just think I couldn't take it seriously, because of the impression of the low grade printing and publishing.

This book is very helpful and is a "must have" for someone just starting out in the cake decorating business. I have been operating my business for over a year and although I had aleady figured out most of the contents of this book on my own, I did get several helpful insights. I hesitated to order this book as I thought it was overpriced for a paperback. However as I read "Start a Cake Business Today", I found that is is jam packed with info. Just learning about the free advertising on the internet is well worth the price! There were some printing problems with a few pages in my copy, but the customer service from the author was outstanding.

I found this book to be very helpful and interesting. One of those book I couldn't seem to put down. Has great resources throughout. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is bc there were several spelling errors throughout the book...doesn't take away from the good info offered though.

Bought book for my daughter. I started reading and was amazed at the fantastic information it contained. It is expensive, but as part of a start up cost for a new business, it is minimal considering the information provided. It covers so many areas -- things neither of us had even thought about -- and has great resource links for further information. I believe this book will save my daughter hundreds of hours of research on her own, and her time is more than worth the cost of the book! Thanks to the author, Paula Spenser, for being so thorough, and being willing to share her knowledge and expertise!

As a person who may consider starting a bakery I had several questions. I bought this book looking for specifics.I was happy with the information I read, but I had already found most things out in general internet surfing. The book did not offer the details I wanted, instead referred me to look into my specific state. This was just not what i expected it to be.

This book was exactly what I was loooking for. My husband (has a business degree) said this is the best book I have ever spent money on. It really does cover everything you would need to know about starting your own cake business. There are also a ton of great references and web adresses to find out more. If you are even thinking of selling cakes this book is a must!

The book is helpful if you live in America but nowhere else so if you are over that way this would be the book for you otherwise keep looking!
